The WhyNot? club on George Street isn't too bad at all.
I suspect it's pretty much part of the Dome though... and you might not want to be linked to such a snoby club. The WhyNot? club is nicely posh. It has all the fancy lights and comfortable seats you would expect for a nightclub in its location. The bonus is that the cost of drinks there is not over the top. The WhyNot? club as a role in life. Advantages: a good variety of different nights Disadvantages: expensive entry fees
It is based on edinburghs George street, it is a relitively new club that is quite smart and on the pricier end of the market for edinburgh. Throughout the week it has many different nights often promoted by students from the University, one of the best is Flare, a seventies night every other monday. it is five pounds to get in and four pounds if you are dressed up. worth venturing to if you fancy witnessing the antics of alot of extremely drunk ...

Advantages: NOT OVEREXPENSIVE Disadvantages: HEAVY HANDED DOOR ATTENDANTS
NICE CLUB, GOOD MUSIC, NOT TOO EXPENSIVE FOR DRINKS ALTHOUGH THE 7.50 PRICE TAG AT THE DOOR ON A SAT, NIGHT IS NOT WORTH IT. LOTS OF STUDENTS FREQUENT THE CLUB. WE FOUND THEM TO BE UNFRIENDLY AND ARROGANT TYPES. ABSOLUTELY FULL OF THEMSELVES AND NOT TOO GOOD AT HOLDING THEIR LIQUOR. FOR SMOKERS THIS CLUB HAS NO AMENITIES. YOU HAVE TO GO OUTSIDE THE MAIN SECURITY GATES AT THE TOP OF THE ROAD, NO STANDING OUTSIDE WHICH ISN'T IDEAL.. THE DOORMEN ARE ... ...THE POLICE FOR MANHANDLING ME IN THE CLUB. VERY THREATENING BEHAVIOUR WHICH IS UNNACEPTABLE CONSIDERING I WAS A WOMAN OF 5FT 2INCHES TALL AND HE WAS AOUND 6 FOOT AND BUILT LIKE THE SIDE OF A WALL.. TRIED TO MAKE ME LEAVE WITHOUT MY FRIEND WHO WAS RETRIEVING OUR COATS FROM THE CLOAKROOM. NOT IDEAL IN THE MIDDLE OF WINTER IN A STRANGE TOWN WITH NOTHING BUT A SATIN EVENING TOP ON! I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND. GLASGOW IS MUCH FRIENDLIER AND SO MUCH FUN COMPARED ...
