Disadvantages Disadvantages Steep hills for a manual wheelchair.

~~ Woburn Safari Park ~~ After reading luckyarchers review on Woburn Safari Park I got really excited I loved the sound of it and especially Rainbows End, which leads me to another story which I will tell you about later on. Straight away I went onto the internet to take a look at their website, it was on here that I discovered they did various Special Experiences; one of these happened to be a VIP Tour with a Ranger, where you get right up close to all the animals, this is fantastic and the ideal birthday present for my animal loving daughter for her 21st. All I needed to do now was to ... more

Advantages Advantages Lots of animals, conservation aspects, big enclosures, road & foot safari, walk through enclosures

Disadvantages Disadvantages Expensive and not the biggest safari park

I visited Woburn Safari Park a few times as a child but most recently visited in March 2010. -Location- Woburn Safari Park is situated in Bedfordshire, which is just one hours drive from London, Oxford, Cambridge and Birmingham. It is off the M1 and is well signed up when you get nearby - we had no problems finding it. -Opening times- Main season starts from the beginning of March through to end of October. The park opens daily at 10am and closes at 6pm (last entry is 5pm). Winter season starts from the beginning of November through to end of February. The park opens weekends only at 11am and ... more

Advantages Advantages Great inclusive off-peak family day out.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Price goes up and it's crowded late July & August.

*** How We Got There *** We were travelling home from the Peak District to Essex recently, feeling a bit sad that our holiday was over. We left our holiday home early in the morning, and started making our way straight home due to the forecast that the atrocious weather we were having was widespread across the country. By the time we got to the M1 in Bedfordshire, the sun had come out though, and I wanted to make the most of it. “There’s a sign to Woburn Safari Park!” I shouted, so hubby left the M1 at Junction 13 and followed the clear signs. Sadly, after checking their website, I found out ... more

Advantages Advantages great for kids; plenty to do; animals are allowed to roam “free”

Disadvantages Disadvantages expensive food and gifts

~ ~ ~ Getting There And Getting In ~ ~ ~ Jacob’s 3rd birthday was fast approaching and as it was a Tuesday during term time, Paul and I thought we’d take him out for the day as we knew most places would be fairly quiet. We set about finding somewhere we hoped he would enjoy. I was looking through my latest Tesco Clubcard Deals brochure and noticed that we could use our vouchers to get into Woburn Safari Park. I had very vague memories of visiting there as a child myself and knew I’d enjoyed it. So after some frantic present opening first thing in the morning, we set off south down the M1 ... more

Advantages Advantages Great to get up close to the animals and see them in their own habitat.

Disadvantages Disadvantages High Price compared with other days out.

Flicking through the choices of places to use my Tesco Clubcard vouches I spotted Woburn Safari Park. We had already used the vouchers for a number of theme parks so thought this would make a nice change. We stayed in Luton for our visit which was around a 10 minute drive from the Park. ~~Directions~~ Woburn Safari Park is approximately one hour's drive from London, Oxford, Cambridge and Birmingham. Follow signs to Woburn Safari Park from the M1 junction 12 or 13. From the A5, follow signs to Woburn village. Woburn Safari Park is signposted from here. Woburn Safari Park Woburn Park ... more

Advantages Advantages Great Day Out With Loads To See & Do

Disadvantages Disadvantages Pricey Food & Drinks

Woburn Safari Park is located in a small village in Bedfordshire just off the M1. It's really well signposted and very easy to get too.. Woburn safari park has been there since the 1970's as is dedicated to the conservation of many endangered and rare animals. Me and my husband took my sisters two boys, we had already taken them to most of the zoos in England and was looking for somewhere different to take them this time, i searched in Google and Woburn Safari Park came up which sounded like a great day out, it has a massive website with loads of useful information.. We live near Peterborough ... more

Advantages Advantages Lots to see and do, a great day out

Disadvantages Disadvantages No monkeys in the safari drive

A couple of weeks ago we decided to take the children to Woburn Safari Park. We like to visit zoos occasionally and all young children enjoy seeing animals. We were looking for a safari park in particular though because we thought the ‘drive through’ would be more exciting and less tiring for our 3 offspring. Woburn Safari Park is in Bedfordshire just off junction 13 of the M1. It’s quite well signposted although we did drive around aimlessly for a while trying to find the entrance! Woburn has been a safari park since the 1970’s although animals have been kept on the estate since the early ... more

Advantages Advantages Compact area for walking around, can revisit the safari as many times as you like.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not many big animals to see.

A recent school holiday saw us going on a trip to Woburn Safari Park in Bedfordshire. We arrived at 10 o,clock which was opening time and saw quite large queues at the toll-booths which seemed to move extremely slowly but that may well have just been the begining of the day hold up and would probably ease after our arrival. For one adult and two children it was £45 which I thought was a bit pricey but I had gone armed with Tesco Day Out vouchers so at least I didn't have to pay! After passing through the tollgates you enter the Road safari. I didn't feel this was particularly good. We found it ... more

Advantages Advantages Great to see animals you may never see anywhere else.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Food and Drink Prices

Taking up an offer a while back from my parents to take me to Woburn Safari park proved to make for one of the best days out I'd had for a long while. Entry to the park was £17 per adult and i believe it was £12 per child I think a child was classed as 12 or under. I thought this was quite expensive at first however when compared to other zoos and the experiance you get here it's very fairly priced indeed. I also enquired about a year ticket which costs £55 and allows you to visit as many times as you like in that year. You also get your ticket fee for the day refunded if you buy it there and ... more

    Advantages Advantages Fun Day Out

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Limited

I have visited Woburn Safari Park twice now once last month and before that it was in summer two years ago. I must say that weather wise it doesn't really matter when you go the animals seem to come out in all conditions. Last month on the day i went, it was absolutely chucking it down so i expected the animals to be seeking refuge in a shelter somewhere so i wouldn't see them. However, i was amazed to find that this made them more active than when i had seen them in the summer time. There are distinct advantages to seeing them in the Winter. 1. You can actually see them! In the summer it is ... more
