21st Birthday Surprise

Advantages: A wonderful day out, plenty to please all ages
Disadvantages: Steep hills for a manual wheelchair.

~~ Woburn Safari Park ~~ After reading luckyarchers review on Woburn Safari Park I got really excited I loved the sound of it and especially Rainbows End, which leads me to another story which I will tell you about later on. Straight away I went onto the internet to take a look at their website, it was on here that I discovered they did various Special Experiences; one of these happened to be a VIP Tour with a Ranger, where you get right up close ...

This was completed and originally contained exotic birds such as peacocks and swans, also some exotic animals like antelopes ...

A Rainbow Landed On Me

Advantages: Great inclusive off-peak family day out.
Disadvantages: Price goes up and it's crowded late July & August.

...“There’s a sign to Woburn Safari Park!” I shouted, so hubby left the M1 at Junction 13 and followed the clear signs. Sadly, after checking their website, I found out that there is no public transport to Woburn Safari Park. I would imagine that it is a popular destination for coach tours though, so check out your local operator, if that is the best option for you. It is 8 miles from Milton Keynes. *** Car Safari – Part 1 *** We chose first to follow ...

You can get off at Elephant Junction, half way round, if you want to. There is no extra charge for train journeys, and various other activities, including swan shaped pedal boats, and adventure playgrounds, situated inside as well as outdoors, designed with different ...

No More Monkeys Jumping On The Car

Advantages: great for kids; plenty to do; animals are allowed to roam “free”
Disadvantages: expensive food and gifts

...our vouchers to get into Woburn Safari Park. I had very vague memories of visiting there as a child myself and knew I’d enjoyed it. So after some frantic present opening first thing in the morning, we set off south down the M1. Woburn is a small town just south-east of Milton Keynes and is home to the safari park and Woburn Abbey. It is easily accessible from J13 of the M1 or the A5. It is fairly central for most places situated about an hours drive ...
...Deer are kept on the Woburn Abbey estate and are a common sight in the safari park grounds. A few yards further and we paid our entrance fee (details at the end of the review) and were also handed a map of the park. For an extra £1.50 we purchased a commentary tape which can be played as you drive around the safari circuit. This is also available on CD. Guide books can be bought for another small fee but there weren’t any in stock on the day we ...

...Tesco Clubcard vouches I spotted Woburn Safari Park. We had already used the vouchers for a number of theme parks so thought this would make a nice change. We stayed in Luton for our visit which was around a 10 minute drive from the Park. ~~Directions~~ Woburn Safari Park is approximately one hour's drive from London, Oxford, Cambridge and Birmingham. When you leave the Park you will be directed back through the village to J12 so you won't miss seeing the village with its' 200+ listed buildings if you come in on the more direct route. As the park is situated just off the motorway it is easiest reached by car. However ...

~ Woburn Safari Animal Park - Fantastic Day Out! ~

Advantages: Great Day Out With Loads To See & Do
Disadvantages: Pricey Food & Drinks

Woburn Safari Park is located in a small village in Bedfordshire just off the M1. It's really well signposted and very easy to get too.. Woburn safari park has been there since the 1970's as is dedicated to the conservation of many endangered and rare animals. Me and my husband took my sisters two boys, we had already taken them to most of the zoos in England and was looking for somewhere different to take them this time, i searched in Google and ...

Woburn with Wee Ones

Advantages: Lots to see and do, a great day out
Disadvantages: No monkeys in the safari drive

...to take the children to Woburn Safari Park. We like to visit zoos occasionally and all young children enjoy seeing animals. We were looking for a safari park in particular though because we thought the ‘drive through’ would be more exciting and less tiring for our 3 offspring. Woburn Safari Park is in Bedfordshire just off junction 13 of the M1. It’s quite well signposted although we did drive around aimlessly for a while trying to find the entrance! ...
...early 19th century. Today Woburn Safari Park is dedicated to the conservation of endangered species and their habitats as well as educating people about these species. We live near Lincoln, so this was going to be a long day out. We aimed to arrive at Woburn at about 9.30am because the park itself opens at 10am and closes at 5pm. Arriving early ensured that we were one of the first vehicles to enter the park and could view the animals at our leisure. ...

Wow its Woburn!

Advantages: Compact area for walking around, can revisit the safari as many times as you like.
Disadvantages: Not many big animals to see.

...going on a trip to Woburn Safari Park in Bedfordshire. We arrived at 10 o,clock which was opening time and saw quite large queues at the toll-booths which seemed to move extremely slowly but that may well have just been the begining of the day hold up and would probably ease after our arrival. For one adult and two children it was £45 which I thought was a bit pricey but I had gone armed with Tesco Day Out vouchers so at least I didn't have to pay! ...
...Road safari. I didn't feel this was particularly good. We found it nearly impossible to see the Rhino as the enclosure was so far from the road. We saw one tiger very close to the car which was lovely, one bear and two wolves. Obviously we saw a fair few Zebra, elands etc but those don't tend to excite my children much! The most impressive safari area was the lion enclosure where there is a good size pride of lions and lots of oppotunity to view ...

Give it a Go!

Advantages: Fun Day Out
Disadvantages: Limited

I have visited Woburn Safari Park twice now once last month and before that it was in summer two years ago. I must say that weather wise it doesn't really matter when you go the animals seem to come out in all conditions. Last month on the day i went, it was absolutely chucking it down so i expected the animals to be seeking refuge in a shelter somewhere so i wouldn't see them. However, i was amazed to find that this made them more active than when ...
...the whole i would recommend Woburn Safari Park as a fun day out and great chance to see animals really close up. The whole jurassic park thing where you drive into almost a big cage and the gate comes down behind you leaving you with no escape, your only option is to drive forward towards literally the lions den makes for a great laugh. One thing to remember is to take your camera with you as there is great opportunity to get some beautiful photographs ...

...home when I stumbled upon Woburn Safari Park. It cost £16 to enter the park with the car. As you enter you pass the restaurant section, but once through the toll, your tour begins. You are advised to keep your windows closed and arms inside the car at certain points, but this isn;t necessary as you pass the hippos first. You then come against giraffes and elephants and other large animals that you would expect to find in a zoo. I enjoyed going ...

Admittedly, the path is wide enough to overtake, but not everyone is considerate enough to stop in a way that allows you to do so. he sealion enclosure is somewhere you should take the time to stop and find out when the presentation times are because you may be lucky enough to feed them, but you'll definately hear the talk given about sealions which is rather interesting. I enjoyed entering the lion ...

Woburn Safari Park - Excellent experiance

Advantages: Great to see animals you may never see anywhere else.
Disadvantages: Food and drink prices.

...parents to take me to Woburn this Sunday just gone proved to make for one of the best days out I've had for a long while. Entry to the park was £17 per adult and i believe it was £12 per child I think a child was classed as 12 or under. I thought this was quite expensive at first however when compared to other zoos and the experiance you get here it's very fairly priced indeed. I also enquired about a year ticket which costs £55 and allows you to ...
...You also get your ticket fee for the day refunded if you buy it there and then. Once in you can go round the safari as many times as you like. We arrived at the park just before opening which is 10am and were let in promptly and didn't have to queue for very long. On the way in you will see Bison, Zebra, and the Elephants are in a seperate encosure running parallel to here. The next enclosure you enter contains the rhinos and also a few other species. ...

Animals have rights too:

Advantages: Animals get to live in freedom and in their natural habitat. :)
Disadvantages: May be quite expensive to get in. :(

Cruelty in animal zoos: I believe that it is cruel and pitiless to keep animals caged up in zoos, when they should be out in the nature, where they belong. Animals have the same rights as human beings- it is unfair because animals cannot have choices, they obviously can't speak to have their say, what they want and what they're opinions are- but that's no reason to treat them so poorly. We can use common sense to see that animals are unhappy with ...
...taking pictures. Animals were created to have freedom and wonder around. They were created to have fun and have nothing to do (unlike human beings- we have work and school etc)- they don't have priorities like us-, which is why they should be let out into freedom, and have their own free will. If I had to be in an animal shoes (Well not entirely their shoes- more like their bodies) for a day I would beyond doubt hate it! Having to be stared at by ...

Woburn Safari Park

Advantages: All weather entertainment
Disadvantages: Expensive (like most of this type of thing)

Woburn is a traditional safari Park. It is based in Bedfordshire in the Woburn Estate, which also includes the Abbey, sculpture gallary, deer park, golf course and village. It has a large selection of animals, most of which are seen through car windows as you drive round. This can be a frustrating experience on very busy days, and the actual drive round time can vary from about and hour (well you can do it in less if you want to leave out some areas) ...
...Most animals are easy to see, in habitat appropriate (or as far as can be provided in this country) areas and are very used to these strange travelling machine. There are some signs around the park telling you about the animal, but if you really want to know I would recommend getting the guide book on your way in (a further £3.50 I believe). Animals that can be seen in the drive round include elephants (3 of them) wolves, black bears, giraffes, oryx, ...

A trip to Woburn

Advantages: seeing wild animals close up, leaving with car intact
Disadvantages: opening times in winter, cars in front stopping

...birthday, and decided to try Woburn Safari, as I had passed the signs many times when driving up the M1. I was suprised at how reasonably priced it is compared to other 'London area' attractions. my only concern was my car, would it survive. There were lots of warnings about bears pulling off wing mirrors etc. but my car survived in one piece. Seeing the animals so close to you was amazing; the lion cubs were playing, rhinos crossing in front of ...
