    and the artistic centre of Java - and that's saying something. Yogya is GORGEOUS, about as nice as Asian cities get and the best place on the island to study Indonesian, massage or wax batik painting. It's an ancient city filled with students on bicycles, fascinating batik and arts shops, delicious little restaurants and cafes selling dirt cheap Indonesian food and as if that weren't enough, it's got the lowest living expenses in Indonesia. Get a basic hotel room for £1.50 and a good supper for less than half that - if you're on a budget, you're laughing. Yogya is right in the centre of Java ... more

    Formerly Tamansari was a recreation garden or a resting house for the Sultan and family. The other resting houses including Warungboto, Manukberi, Ambarbingun, and Ambarrukmo functioned for the vacation and meditation for the royal family. The other function is used as hiding place for royal family to defend against the enemy assault. Tamansari is located about 2 km south of Yogyakarta Palace.     yogyakarta, the city is located between Central Java and East Java. the city is led by a governor which the governor was a king named Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono. The city has lots of tourism which is very beautiful.     Yogyakarta is located in Central Java but not in the province of Central Java. it has its own province which is D.I Yogyakarta. Yogyakarta is one of tourist destination in Java. This city isnt far from the city where u can find the greatest Buddha temple in the world(Borobudur). Theres also a well known beach close to the city, dat is Parangtritis beach. U can find an old palace in this city completed with ancient accessories, vehicle and weapons dat u can see in the palace.
