Advantages: Good basic flights Disadvantages: little shabby looking
I flew with Aer Arran on the Belfast to Dublin service, this was to avoid traffic jams and 3 hours on the train journey and as the fare was on a special of just £50 return including taxes it was an offer not to refuse.This was for a same day return as I left on the 8.15am flight and returned at 15.55pm allowing me a full day of business meetings. Aer Arann have a ridiculous check-in baggage allowance of only 15 Kg (33 pounds) per passenger.
They will charge you $11 (7 Euros) for every extra Kilo (2 Ibs).
This is not printed on the Ticket nor on the booking sheets when you book on line. They claim its in the fine print of the terms and conditions.
All the other major airlines have the decency to print your baggage allowance on the tickets, and allow you twice the Aer Arann limit.

Advantages: Fantastic cheap airline Disadvantages: Unfortuanetly, they don't fly everywhere!
I flew with AerArann a few weeks ago on a regular trip to Liverpool, and it was one of the better flights I've had myself. (I fly small prop aircraft part time).
The check in staff were top notch, and not to mention very good looking, whilst the cabin crew were thorough on the short flight over to Liverpool. The pilot had a good sense of humour, as did the cabin crew. They were all top notch in their jobs.
