Taking on the Unknown Like Never Before
Review of General: Malaysia by
tiger645
Advantages: Amazing and beautiful country
Disadvantages: Hospital visits
Borneo is a state of Malaysia and so I have put it under the Malaysia section. Although English is not the first language it is commonly spoken out there and we never had any problems speaking in English to anyone.
This review is slightly different to normal, rather than a review of the country its my experience of my time in that country, what I did and how I felt which is why it comes under Malaysia experience. WARNING: This experience was a ...

Advantages: lots of attractions, nice people, wonderful foods and wonderful country
Disadvantages: sometimes you may not stand the hot and humidity...
It's been a year and a half I've been UK, well specifically in Leeds. At this moment, alone in my room make me missing everything back home and that the reason I've wrote this review. Might be you'll think that I tried to promote my country although it is not my main reason, but hey why not. I'm proud to be Malaysian. Cheesy….
Facts about Malaysia.
Sometimes, when I met new people and told them I'm from Malaysia, they will ask me back "it's ...

Kuala Lumpur - Singapore train experience
Review of General: Malaysia by
dance
Advantages: Cheap, comfortable and safe !
Disadvantages: Old coaches
Having been on so many trains in Europe, I decided to try out the Malaysia-Singapore train during my stay here in Malaysia. This is not the first time I visit Singapore through Malaysia but I have always taken bus or flight so this train experience is new to me.
First of all, let me tell you the differences between these different options. If you take a flight, it is only 50 minutes (excluding time taken to check in which is 2 hours before flight ...

A Must Visit, the Central Market in KL
Review of General: Malaysia by
zorbay
Advantages: Culture,Arts and Crafts,Shopping, Good Food
Disadvantages: Get's croded
If you are visiting Malaysia there is one place you really must visit- The Central Market in Kuala Lumpur. Saved from demolition, the original art-deco style Central Market was converted into a fine "festive hall" and in 1986,reopened as Malaysia's foremost Cultural Shopping Centre showcasing the best local crafts and arts in the country.I always advise
overseas visitors to make a trip since there is a lot to see and do, all under one roof.

Malaysia - A good Country to Visit
Review of General: Malaysia by
ashford
Advantages: Tropical climate. Multi cultural Good food.
Disadvantages: Humidity.Traffic Jams in the Cities.
Malaysia is a very good country to visit. It is comparatively cheap with the rinngit pegged to the US dollar at the rate of US$1:RM3.80. You can find budget hotels at around 15 pounds per night, 2/3 star hotels at about 20 pounds and if you look for special offers you can even stay in de luxe hotels for around 50 pounds per night. That is not bad is it ?
Eating out can be very inexpensive - if you patronise the local hawker stalls you could get ...

Review of General: Malaysia by

Advantages: Beautiful beaches. Great shops at night great fun, forests too
Disadvantages: hot/humid/polluted
Kuala Lumpur the capital of Malaysia is great for all tourists, in this very hot climate there are excellent hotels. There are great shops and things are very cheap, technology is pretty good too.
Strange things were seen when exploring Malaysia, shops sellings testicles, yes i did say what you just read, Kangaroo testicles etc. I wont go into detail what else they were selling because you get the idea.
I just said the last part to throw a huge ...

Brief Guide To Malaysia By A Malaysian
Review of General: Malaysia by
bennyong
Advantages: My Home
Disadvantages: Far Away From London
First of all, I apologise for placing this review in this section meant for travellers. I am trying to do something different as it is usefull for travellers to do a rough background reading of a country before visiting it. So I hope you understand.
Malaysia
I decided to write a review of my home country Malaysia after Lisa(Elffriend)’s question to me about the main races here. Besides that, this 31st August is our 47th anniversary of independence.

My would be second home
Review of General: Malaysia by
earningstuff
Advantages: a great country with great people
Disadvantages: can be too hot and humid
I was warmly welcomed into the Malaysian community at University and have a lot of friends out there now. In fact my wife was one of those Malaysian students. After graduation I went to Malaysia to visit my then fiancée to make plans for our marriage. As over the phone it’s not as easy as you might think.
Anyway, I spent 39 days is Malaysia (M'sia hereafter) and had mixed experiences. Some fantastic, breathtaking experiences like swimming ...

Secret Paradise
Review of General: Malaysia by
jedi_billy
Advantages: see above
Disadvantages: was a few mosquito's at a damp rainforest end of the beach
I shouldn't really tell you this, it might ruin it for when I go back but tucked away off the North East coast of Malaysia is a few islands called the Perhentians. We heard from travelers passing through Koh Pha Ngan that it's one of the few perfect beach places that aren't yet too disturbed.
The smaller of the island (at Long Beach) hosts crystal clear warm shallow waters, teaming with marine life and intense coral, an ideal spot for you divers ...

The Amazing Batu Caves
Review of General: Malaysia by
ashford
Advantages: Fascinating. Hindu Culture
Disadvantages: Gets crowded during Thaipusam
Just a few miles north of Kuala Lumpur are the amazing Batu Caves in Selangor, which are one of the largest outcrops of limestone cliffs in South East Asia. These spectacular caves have been applauded by international wildlife specialists as being a natural haven for some of the world's most interesting and unique flora and fauna. The caves house an impressive array of bats, white racer snakes and scorpions, and special tours can be arranged by the ...

Malaysia - A Great Country
Review of General: Malaysia by
PalmV
Advantages: all
Disadvantages: none
Last October I visited Malaysia again, the first time in seven years. It was a great and memorable time. Malaysia is a diverse country, a peninsular, to the south of Thailand it is surrounded by beautiful warm waters and palm covered beaches. Although I recommend the east coast with the exception of Langkawi. Further to east lies the Island Borneo in the south china sea, half of which belongs to Malaysia too. Here one can see Mount Kinabalu, which ...

A short guide to Malaysia
Review of General: Malaysia by
kingchrislake
Advantages: Beautiful scenery and cheap prices
Disadvantages: Too hot! and the cities are somewhat polluted
Well where to begin. Firstly some quick tips for preparing to go to Malaysia:
First and most important take some ANTI MOSQUITO cream/repellant. This is the MOST important piece of advice any of these reviews could suggest to you. This is because virtually everywhere in Malaysia has mosquitos and they are a huge pain, causing swelling and severe itchiness.
Secondly if your going for a week or two then you should get the necessary jabs: malaria ...
