Deansgate Locks is a strip of bars situated by a canal with access to the clubs via bridges. It all looks very nice as you approach. Towards the far end is Revolution.

As you enter there is a fairly large room with a lot of big black leather sofas. If you can manage to grab yourself one (you will be lucky as it is very busy!) you will find a table and probably a shot menu. The bouncers are ok usually but I have once been told it is over 21s when I presented my ID which was news to me but I will give them the benefit of the doubt.

However once you've decided what shots to have you will then have to abandon your hard to aquire seat to fight your way to the bar.
Yes, it is very busy in here - although not quite as busy as its neighbouring bar Baa Bar. Shots downed you have three choices, stay put or you can go to the far end of the bar and either take some steps upstairs to a large balcony area with more seating or you can go downstairs to dance.
Downstairs doesn't have a dance floor, it IS a dancefloor. There is little or no seating and a bar at the end where you go in at and the rest of the room would be empty if it wasnt for all the people packed tightly in dancing away. This isn't a big club but there is a lot of people and good atmosphere.
The music is less mainstream dance, house, drum n bass. This isn't necesarilly my favourite kind of music to dance too but lots of people like it and as the atmosphere is so good you can easily get lost into it.
If you are feeling like you have downed one too many shots and ask for water from the bar they will tell you they don't sell it but you can have glasses of it for free - wah hey! The shots are fairly cheap - I think around £1.50 which isn't as cheap as Baa Bar but still not too bad.
On the upstairs balcony you are more likely to find seating and it is more chilled out.The clientele seemed to be late twenties to thirties but there were some young people in here too.
On the whole you can have a good night out here but I wouldn't say it is one of the best places in Manchester.
Advantages: Classy, Clean and very relaxing, great value deals Disadvantages: Vegetarians may struggle with menus
...suggested we go to Vodka Revolution at The Plaza, Units 1 + 2 Fitzwilliam Street Sheffield. Located pretty centrally the bar itself specialises in Vodka drinks (hence the name no surprise there).
Located in Sheffield's fashionable West One development the bar offers a light and open atmosphere which is welcoming at day or night. The bar is instantly recognisable with full-length glass windows surrounding two sides of the building, giving the perfect ... ...groups of people.

Advantages: One classy joint, no riff-raff Disadvantages: Too many people
Revolution (Fallowfield) is the only decent bar in the vicinity.
If its a bit of class that you're after and you're in Fallowfield, Revolution wins hands down. The decor is really cool with a Russian theme (Vodka -geddit). The staff are good-looking (although it's beginning to slip). The music is really cool and chilled, sort of a fusion of hip-hop, funk and house.
Revolution were the pioneers of flavoured vodka and a trip there is incomplete without ... ...I've only heard horror stories.
Also, the cocktails are really good. I personally recommend the Seabreeze and strongly advise against the Bloody Revolution (it's got tabasco and horse radish in it).
Revolution has always been popular with the students and is always packed on a Friday/Saturday. Definately worth a visit. ...

Advantages: Central for clubs, cinemas and theatres; great vodka Disadvantages: Spend a couple of hours in there and you won't be fit for much else afterwards
The Revolution bar is located on Manchester's trendy Oxford road. It is the ideal jump off point for Manchester's Theatres and Cinemas. Revolution's USP has got to be it's selection of connaisseur vodkas. You can rapidly progress from vodka curiosity to vodka bliss to vodka paradise then to vodka oblivion there. The selection ranges from a gut burning, brain blasting chillie vodka, through thought provoking tropical fruit vodka to girlie lemon and ...

As you all know by now.... I'm a student and drinking is what we do best! The nightlfe in Durham isnt exactly happening so our next port of call is Newcastle....
My first experience of Revolution was about a month ago when I went out for a friends birthday. We had had a meal and been to a couple of bars but then wanted somewhere that stayed open late but wasn't a sweaty dark nightclub..... thats where Revolution came in..
Its open all day for food and drinks but the best part about is it shuts at 1am so if you don't fancy going to a nightclub but want to socialise later than 11pm then Revolution is the place.

There are two revolutions in Liverpool. One is one Wood Street and the other is in the Cavern Quarter. Both are decorated in similar fashion and both serve the most dizzying array of vodka you are ever likely to see. The Wood Street revolution was the first one in Liverpool; it's smaller and so tends to always be full. It is quite likely that you will have to queue to get in here. Don't worry too much though as it tends to have a pretty fast turnaround of people so you shouldn't have to queue for long.
The other Revolution is quite a lot larger and has several floors. The décor is plusher with velvet drapes and chandeliers etc. The vodkas served at both range from nice to down right evil. A good rule of thumb is that any chocolate flavoured ones will probably be nice whereas fruit flavoured ones tend to be evil. Under no circumstances ...

Advantages: Nice surroundings, quality drinks Disadvantages: Hard to get served, full of posers, doorstaff a bit over the top
's a hell of a lot nicer than the face-melting stare you would have received 2 or 3 years ago. You can even wear trainers now - a while back they would have been radioing other bars for bouncer backup if they caught you trying to sneak by in a pair of Adidas. However, the affection for these chaps stops here. You probably won't know this, but a local paper ran a story a few months ago on how Revolution's doorstaff had "declared war on drugs" or some such right-on nonsense rhetoric, and praised them for their "pro-active" initiative in ridding their bar from narcotics. Apparently their stance had yielded "X" amount of each drug since they began, and they were extremely proud of the fact. Admirable you may say, and you probably wouldn't be in the minority. This may change when I tell you that their stance consists of checking the toilets every five ...
