Faliraki Water Park
Review of Water Park, Rhodes by ilusvm

Advantages: variety of rides, fun day out, enjoyable attractions, fair entry fee, easy to get to
Disadvantages: no straps on locker keys, limited shade on walkways resulting in burning feet, very hilly

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Faliraki Water Park ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ As a family we are fairly easy to please on holiday. We consist of my dad who is 42, my 17 year old brother, my 8 year old brother and myself (I am 20). We all enjoy similar things on holiday and our ideal day is lazing around by the pool and perhaps having a little wander round local villages then having something nice to eat and drink. One thing we all love are decent water parks. So ...
...taxi, car and bus. The water park run a free shuttle bus to and from Rhodes town and there is a reasonable sized carpark (free of charge) so if you have hired a car you can use that as transport. The water park is the first to appear on the island of Rhodes and claims to be the biggest in Europe (I am not convinced about this as im sure I have been to bigger ones). From June through to August the waterpark is open from 9.30am till 7pm and from may ... Read review
Sandy and clean Pefkos beach.
Review of Pefkos Beach, Lindos, Rhodes by jasonking12
Advantages: Clean goldan sandy beach and clear shallow water.
Disadvantages: gets very crowded
...a good deal of shingle. Pefkos beach however is one of the best on the island for clean golden sand and clear shallow water that is ideal for families. For about 8 Euros you can hire two sunbeds and umbrella for the whole day. The sunbeds do really dominate the beach which is only about 400 metres long and no more than 20 metres deep, so there is very little room for you to just arrive with your towel under your arm and lay where you want. If you ...
...agaes and tastes. The Pefkos beach road is a 300 metre up hill walk to the main village where there are even more shops and places to eat. And if you want to walk another 5 minutes you will find two really nice chinese restaurants and an Indian as well. At night Pefkos really comes alive and has excellent night life, mostly at the famous 'Pefkos by night' bar. But if the really young and loud crowd is not for you then I can highly recommend the ... Disadvantages: not to good if you really want to dive anywhere
havingh gone on holiday to rhodes with my wife for two weeks. I saw a diving couse at rhodes habour. my wife said you have allways wanted to do this course so do it. I enrolled for the course a open water dive course over four days. the cost was in excess of 200 pounds. I was told that I would be come a qualifled diver at the end of the course. The organization was total bedlem. we only went to the dive site by boat once all the other times ...
...the equipment had to be loaded on and of a land rover and carried down to the site. this was very tme consuming. The main aim of this firms diving day was to attact as many people as possible to try dive and buy the photo that they took. There was actauly only two people on the four day course myself and a young man from iceland. We was kept waiting around most of the day waiting for instuctors to finish with the 10/15people sessons at the try ... Read review
One of the 7 wonders of the ancient world.
Review of Colossus of Rhodes, Rhodes by jasonking12
Advantages: A site of historic interest by Rhodes medeivel town
Disadvantages: a wonder of the ancient world that isnt there anymore
The colossus of Rhodes was a huge bronze statue around 110 feet in height that stood at the entrance of Rhodes harbour. Rhodes is one of the three largest greek islands and is located a mere 12 miles off of the coast of Turkey where the Aegean sea meets the Mediterranean. Being of significant strategic importance the island sparked the interest of many and in 357BC was conquered by Mausolus of Halicarnassus and remained in hs hands until 340BC when ...
...celebrate this victory that the colossus of Rhodes was constructed. The Rhodians melted down all the bronze from the defeated invaders numerous war machines to build the statue itself and used the timber from giant siege engines to use as scaffolding. The statue was 110 feet high and stood upon a 50 foot pedestal and was a depiction of the Helios the greek sun god and stood at the entrance to the harbour. A popular misconception which is assisted ... Read review
The beautiful old town of Rhodes.
Review of Medieval City, Rhodes by jasonking12
Advantages: The old perfectly marries the new
Disadvantages: quite a bit of walking if it is hot.
...nothing away from the authentic medieval experience. You can definatley make a complete day trip out of this place, and when you have completed your tour of the city itself and had your fill of good food and window shopping you can then adjourn to the old moat. Obviously no swimming involved as the moat is now a deep grass covered valley surrounding the city, dotted here and there with palm trees and flowers. At approximatley three kilometers around ...
