We stayed in Rhodes Town this summer, the first time we have been, and I can honestly say that it is the best place we have ever been to. The place has everything, good restaurants, bars, clubs etc and the beaches, although a little crowded are quite good, notably the one they call "windy" beach where the welcome breeze means you can sunbathe without being overpowered by the heat. We stayed in a central part of what is known as the New Town which is handy for everything. it is about 10 minutes walk to the Old Town which has to be visited to be believed. There must be literally thousands of shops, bars and tavernas within this ancient walled city, all in narrow, cobbled streets which are like a giant labyrinth where you find new places to see each time you visit. On top of all of the places to see, you are surrounded by the most friendly and welcoming people you could ever wish to meet and with the good rate of exchange at the moment you get good value for your money. We will certainly be back, SOON!
