poor hotel Advantages: the weather Disadvantages: everything Trusting the Sofitel name, we booked and pre paid for 7 nights at the Sofitel Capsis Rhodes. Upon arrival, we found that we had to make our own way to the room, bags in tow. When we entered the room we were surprised at how small it was. We are a family of four, (2 adults and 2 kids). The room consisted of 1 double sized bed (not even a queen), 1 single bed, and 1 fold away bed. There was literally no room to move. The room also contained a 12 inch ... ...be drinking anything. The mini club they advertise on their web site, doesn't exist. It also seemed as though the hotel was built on the wrong side of the island. 10 days in Greece. Advantages: Luxorious, spacious, friendly, good facilities. Disadvantages: The road infront, the private beach. ...very pleasant stay in the Hilton Rhodes resort, and i found it all round a very pleasant experience. Well first, the hotel's surroundings. It is situated in Ixia, between the Diagoras airport and the main rhodes town. Due to it's location, the resort, as well as the one next door, Ialyssos can seem cramped and busy. One of the main contributers to this feeling is the main road, its busy from early in the morning to around 3am at night, and can take ... ...a short walk from the Hilton in the direction of Rhodes, the pizzas where the best I have ever tasted. Shops are also in abundence, where 500ml of cola can be brought for around 1 euro, and water for around 50 cents. The refreshment will be needed, the heat there is amazing. Cosmos Maris - a perfect getaway Advantages: Pretty much everything! Disadvantages: Maybe a little out of the way for some people. ...in Lardos, costing three times the price and being nowhere near as enjoyable! Overall the Cosmos Maris is a special place to go on holiday, in a perfect setting with a warm welcome and a family feel. THE FINAS(T) APARTMENTS IN PEFKOS? Advantages: friendly, good facilities, good location, nice pool Disadvantages: accommodation fairly basic, couldn't move parasols over the sun loungers ...this before but at the Finas, people MIXED with each other. Everyone always said hello by the pool and chatted away to each other, the staff mixed with the guests a lot, and everyone was just so friendly. Pefkos is a pretty English oriented resort in general from what I could see, and most of the guests at the Finas were English – but the staff were mainly Greek or Scottish. They would all chat away to you and make you feel welcome. It was definitely ... ...OF YEAR TO GO Obviously in May, what with it not being the school holidays, it was fairly quiet at the Finas. The receptionist told us they only had about 40 apartments booked out the time we were there, but in July./August the place would be heaving when it was at capacity.
