Fabulous Fès

Advantages: Not as "touristy" as other parts of Morocco, steeped in history, a beautiful city
Disadvantages: Beware small children and Moroccan men

would instead recommend walking up to the Merenid tombs on the hillside neighbouring the old city. The tombs themselves are nothing special, but from this hillside you will be given an amazing view of the city (see photo below). ACCOMMODATION For as authentic a Moroccan experience as possible, I would highly recommend staying in one of the many riads situated in and around the city. These are traditional Moroccan houses set around a central courtyard, which generally only have a handful of rooms available. Serving traditional Moroccan breakfasts (fresh orange juice, pancakes and traditional pastries), they will generally also serve lunch and evening meals on request. We stayed at the Riad Clé de Fès, a beautiful riad just outside the medina, which, despite being so close to all the action, was incredibly peaceful. Many riads, we noticed ...

Riad Al Moussika Marrakech

Advantages: A great staff, outstanding rooms, the perfect location and very good food too.
Disadvantages: Requires early booking

We, (a group of 6 friends from UK), stayed at Riad Al Moussika Hotel in Marrakech in June and had a wonderful experience! ( www.riyad-al-moussika.com )The staff was great from the moment we arrived. Everyone was friendly, we received incredible rooms with terrace and/or windows overlooking the beautiful swimming pool and garden and the Moorish court. The rooms were immaculate and were beautifully furnished with authentic paintings and antique Moroccan furniture. My huge bathtub was great after walking all day. Very nice library, with a large selection as well of English books about Morocco and Moroccan culture. Try the hammam experience if you want to indulge to an oriental pleasure. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone. A great staff, outstanding rooms, the perfect location and very good food too. We will back as soon as possible ...

Review of Riyad Al Moussika, Marrakesh

Riad Al Moussika Marrakech : The hidden gem of Marrakesh !

Advantages: Central location, very good value for money, haute-cuisine food, very professional service
Disadvantages: I can't find any

The Riad Al Moussika, ( www.riyad-al-moussika.com ), where I spent with friends a long weekend at the beginning of our journey to the south of Morocco in early January, is a place that has stopped time, where the magical atmosphere, relives Morocco of Pasha of 1800, but with all the comfort of our century. Everything is perfect, authentic, calm, serene... I recommend strongly this hotel for its central location, even for the excellent and very professional service provided by the young boys of the staff, always smiling and present without being intrusive. The chef and owner, Khalid, a nice and helpful big boy, who speaks I do not know how many languages, but among them an excellent Italian that has enabled me to know a world of things about authentic Marrakech, thing impossible otherwise, due to my language limitations, and, most ...
