Essential Essaouira

Advantages: beautiful beawch, laid back, the medina
Disadvantages: not enough there for a week,

I can not imagine staying there for a week, as there was not that much to do. I think we covered most of the main attraction in the seven hours we were there. It might be good if I was looking for a relaxing beach holiday in the summer. It would also be great for a weekend break or perhaps a two centre holiday split between Marrakesh and Essaouira It is fairly unspoilt but there are a number of hotel and riads along the seafront. However I an not comment on them. Marrakesh maybe magic but sometimes you need to tie out. Easy going laid back Essaouira is ideal ...

Lovely Riad, Shame About the Location

Advantages: Rooms and food are great, very relaxing
Disadvantages: Location, location, location!

We have just returned from spending the Easter weekend at Riad O2 in Marrakech. Prior to visiting Marrakech we had good email contact with the riad, and we confirmed with them that we would like to be collected from the airport and have dinner in the riad on our first night. We then arranged to pay the outstanding balance by bank transfer. We arrived at Menara airport after a really easy three hour flight, and we were quickly met by one of the riad's drivers, Hamid. He helped us to his car with our bags and we set off for the medina. Having read a couple of reviews on other sites before leaving we were a little wary of the area that Riad O2 is situated in, and unfortunately on arriving I have to admit our worries were confirmed. Hamid pulled up at the end of a road near Sidi Ben Slimane, and we then walked for three or four ...

Review of Riad O2, Marrakesh

Essaouira far more enjoyable than Agadir.

Advantages: Cheap and Sunny
Disadvantages: Harasment and over charging so very comming.

:30 it was just somewhere to get harassed and stressed. A state in which I spent a lot of time. After a day in the city we decided to head over the Essaouira , and I am so glad that we did. It is a small, medieval walled town where cars are not allowed which gives it a more relaxed atmosphere. The hotels were all clean and the French influence was very apparent in the town. The following day my friend and I were able to walk around without being overly harassed, which was a relief. We were even able to get two good meals and do a bit of surfing. This was the highlight of my time in Morocco, the town was beautiful, relaxing not overly expensive and friendly. If you go in July there is a music festival inspired by Jimmy Hendrix who lived there for a while. At the end of the day, there are a lot of good points about the country but ...
