ROOM IN THE INN IN RIMINI Advantages: GREAT LOCATION NEAR THE BEACH Disadvantages: RIMINI ...We opted for the Ramada Villa Rosa, mainly for the location it has to be said, but also because it looked a half decent hotel at a half decent price (80 euros). The location couldn't be any better. It's 5 minutes from the historic town centre, sits right on the main drag just across the road from the beach and surrounded by bars and restaurants. We weren't really there for the beach, the historic town centre wasn't up to much but the bars and restaurants ... ...too bad, all things considered. There's masses of parking at the beachfront but I expect it can be a bit more crowded at busier times. It's not free though, it's not even cheap so I took advantage of the hotel's secure car park and hid my little Fiat away for the duration of our stay. The entrance is a little strange - you have to fight your way through the terrace which doubles up as a restaurant to make your way to the reception. Well-located Art Deco hotel Advantages: Location to beach, nice area of Rimini Disadvantages: Some room rates require extra £ to use private beach We stayed at this hotel after booking a cheap 'new route' flight via Easyjet. The hotel has a feeling of being in an Agatha Christie novel with a certain shabby chic and some interesting people-watching moments - wealthy Europeans and Americans. Service was generally great, location was good (just across the road to the beach) and hotel facilities are easily sufficient. Breakfasts were fantastic. Please don't stay at this hotel ! Advantages: Near the beach Disadvantages: Dirty rooms, outdated, not all facilities available, breakfasts poor, staff rude, swimming pool unusable A group of six of us went for 4 nights at the end of May. The only good thing about this hotel is that it is 2mins from the beach, however, so are most of the hotels - so that is by no means unique. The hotel was in general , appaling. The rooms are old, smelly, and delapadated. Dont be fooled by the pictures of the rooms, on various websites - we were! The rooms really are awful, and are extremely crampled - they basically just shove a bed in somewhere ... ...swimming pool on the roof looks fantastic, but in reality is smelly, dirty, and not clean enough to use. Inside the hotel is very dated, and literally has not been updated since the 1970's. Also, on many sites, it lists that they have a private beach, which is a plain lie. They have a very small strip of beach, which was not even ready for use when we went there, and we had to pay to use the beach. They also tried underhand tactics to make us pay ...
