This is part of my travel diary on a tour from Contiki. As part of the journey to Prague, we stopped at Dresden for a few hours and below is my experience.
Dresden, 124 miles south of Berlin, is the capital city for the state of Saxony. During the Second World War, the entire city centre was wiped out in the 1945 bombing which was master-minded by Winston Churchill. It is also the place where ex-president of Russia Putin stationed during the cold war.
Our first stop was the Frauenkirche(the Church of Our Lady). The Dresden Frauenkirche survived the firebombing of Dresden during World War II but was totally burned out and collapsed the next day. It has been reconstructed as a landmark symbol of reconciliation between former warring enemies. It is small in size but I have to say it is one of the most beautiful churches I ever ...
Another DVD from the Dresden Dolls LIVE. This one has a great feel. London's Roundhouse was a great place for such a fantastic band to play in there are a number of guest performers. There are a mixture of songs from there albums along with a cover of Mad World and a song from Cabaret.. Plus there is documentary that generally highlights the guest performers with some showing of the band themselves. this is a wondeful oppurtunity to see the great band themselves perform. like Parisde dvd you feel like your there. this is a must have for any Dresden dolls fan and every fan of music

i highlty recommend that you watch this. this is a treat for many and a fantastic chance to see the dolls in action ...

Imagine the following: It's 9.30 pm, it's dark and you skate within 2000 people on a 4 lane well asphalted road, watching the century-old barok buildings on the other side of the river Elbe. They are floodlighted and in front of you is a car with music.
Thats what Dresdens Nightskating (Nachtskaten) is about. It runs every friday in the summer period and is the greates weekly attraction in our city. The Dresden Nightskating was one of the first ones of these events (may 1998) now establisht all over Germany ...

The hotel is located in Cotta, a suburb of Dresden, which is 4 kilomet re from the city centre. The hotel is conveniently located for the mo torway and speedy transfers into town and has 120 Parking spaces.The m edium sized bedrooms are pleasantly light due to the large windows, pl ain white painted walls, light wood furniture and curtains and chairs in pale pastel colours. Both the rooms and the bathrooms are well maintained and in very good condition.The restaurant is decorated with a lot of polished light wood and attractive modern furniture. T he hotel also has a lobby bar.
