Rio's, Bradford

Another Friday night in Bradford, and I'm getting ready to go out. Well, I say "getting ready to go out"...but in reality I am pulling on a pair of jeans and shoving my hair up into a ponytail-in fact I am dressing-down from my usual rather girly attire into something decidedly more casual. Rio's is dubbed "the north's premier rock venue"..by whom may I ask?? It seems they haven't travelled beyond the parameters of good old Bradford if this is their genuine view. As much as I love Rio's,I sincerely doubt that it is the official premier rock venue of the north. Right,thats my only qualm with Rio's and the rest of this op is going to praise it to high heaven. The thing that I love about Rio's is the fact that you can go dressed like a complete scruff and nobody cares. Bradfords Rios nightclub is situated off Great Horton Road opposite the University Campus and is mainly inhabited by students when they are in season. The club is open Wednesday, which offers beer at a pound a pint, this is notorously known as 'student night' but when they are in short supply its known as 'jail bait night' by the lovely locals. On Fridays its one hundred per cent hardcore rock, with a little room seperated from the main room that plays gothic music.
