PORCO ROSSO (1992)

Advantages: Another adventure by Hayao Miyazaki.
Disadvantages: Open ending, A lot of nothing and unlike Miyazaki's other animations.

~~~~~~~~~ SYNOPSIS ~~~~~~~~~ 'Porco Rosso' is an animation set in the late twenties, in Italy. It revolves around the life of a great ex-World War I Italian Pilot Fighter, called (surprisingly) 'Porco Rosso.' Although with great success and respect from his fellow people, Rosso is cursed and has to live his life with the face of a pig. Rosso is certainly not retired from his days of work. Although he loves to lounge around in his secluded white-sanded beach, you will soon find out that he does not often get much time to spend his life there. As he still has his red monoplane - his pride and joy, Rosso makes his living as a bounty hunter; by helping the villagers and often tackling and confronting the unwanted sea pirates. Rosso is rewarded for collecting and recovering the values from the pirates. After a tiresome day ...
Dr Oetker's Ristorante Pizzas
Advantages: It's Pizza!
Disadvantages: Too much oil
Dr Oetker's is a German family firm, founded in 1891 originally producing baking powder. They began selling frozen pizzas in Germany in 1970 and brought the Ristorante range to the UK in 2002. Varieties available: • Mozzarella • Speciale (Ham and Salami) • Pollo (chicken) • Hawaii (Ham and pineapple) • Funghi (mushroom) • Quatro Formaggi (four cheese) • Prosciutto (prociutto ham) Usually I eat Pizzas in restaurants or occasionally from a take away place such as Dominos. I am not really a fan of shop bought pizzas finding the base sometimes has the taste and texture of soggy cardboard, and the toppings a bit stingy and never getting to the edge. A while back I tried Dr Oetker's Bistro range which were small lunchtime sized pizza baguettes, so upon my last visit to Sainsburys I purchased ...
My Florence experience
Advantages: Must-go Italian city
Disadvantages: No
In my last trip to Italy, I stayed in Florence for one and a half day. Let me share with you my fantastic experience of Florence. Florence is the cultural capital in the medieval time, and the key player in the Renaissance movement. A small city it seems, but the home of some of the most famous people in history-Michaelanglo, Leonardo da Vinci, Galileo etc, just to name a few. Again with narrow streets and allys, our first stop was a demonstration of leather. Italian/Florentine leather is world famous and shops selling leather cloths and accessories are everywhere. Obviously, I didn't leave without getting some goods myself. After that, we had a walking tour with a local guide. Best known of all Florence's treasures is the Ponte Vecchio. This glorious bridge was the only one spared by the German attacks in the second World ...
