Advantages: Too many to list Disadvantages: You need a very "flexible" friend indeed to afford this place!!
...best.
The centrepiece of the complex is the ancient “Straffan House”, the origins of which can be traced back as far as the 6th century, and which has been converted into the main hotel. This is a huge building of amazing grace and elegance, and must now be considered one of the top hotels of the world.
Other facilities include state of the art tennis courts and archery ranges, and you can also indulge in a spot of croquet, swimming, or horse riding if these are your fancy.
~ ~ The hotel is, naturally enough, surrounded by the golf course itself, which is set in a 330-acre country estate of magnificent charm and beauty.
The building is bordered by one ambling mile of the River Liffey, which has some of the best fishing facilities the country has to offer, and has also been cleverly incorporated into the design of the golf...

Advantages: Friendly staff, good food, good leisure facilities Disadvantages: A little bit dated and not all facilites are on par with other hotels
...The Ard Ri has for many years been a favourite of both locals and tourists for two main reasons: value for money and fantastic service.
Located across the river Suir from the city, and claimed by some to be actually in County Kilkenny (a great source of local rivalry and jovial banter), this hotel is well situated to take in the panoramic views (especially at night) of Waterford City and the river Suir.
This hotel was originally built back in the 60's and despite the ongoing maintenance and renovations that have been done, this hotel appears to be a little outdated when compared to some of the others in the city.

Advantages: good view and food Disadvantages: none
...We stayed at the Maple Court for two nights at the end of October
The location was fantastic - a nice 5-10 minute walk from downtown Inverness, along the river Ness. Lots of great restaurants within walking distance
The room is large, and very clean. The furnishings are a bit cheap, and the bed is just okay. Sheets and towels were clean and average. The bathroom was very clean.
The staff were great, and the morning breakfast was great. The chef will make you whatever you\'d like for breakfast.
The food was wonderful with brilliant portions. Everything was fresh and prepared beautifully. The bacon and egg scrambles and salmon crepes were terrific.
Gardens and river setting is just out of this world.
I would stay there again....
