Advantages: Near City Centre, Good value for money, River view Disadvantages: On a busy road
The Riverside Court Hotel is situated just outside Sheffield City Centre within a few minutes walk of the main markets and one of the main Shopping areas of the City.
It occupies a prominent position on the corner of Nursery Street, where it meets the Wicker. Historically the Wicker is an area of the City that was once a thriving part of Sheffield with lots of Shops and Businesses. Today it is rather run down, although improvements are currently underway, and most of the businesses in this area are now take aways and other fast food outlets.
The Riverside Court Hotel actually occupies quite an enviable location at the top end of the Wicker. It sits on Lady's Bridge next to the Exchange Brewery Works with views overlooking the River Don and the new Apartment Blocks on the opposite banks of this River. Lady's Bridge was built in ...
Advantages: Location Disadvantages: Cleanliness or lack of it
This hotel is awful. It is really rundown and not very well kept. On arrival there was nobody on reception to greet customers and you had to phone a number to speak to anyone. The bedroom itself was filthy, the valance on the bed was completely stained, there was cigarette ash in the teabag bowl, it was disgusting. To top if off they took the full amount off our credit card before we arrived, then packed our belongings while we were at my sisters graduation as they had messed up the booking. They moved personal belongings, monies and passports and would only talk to us over the phone about the situation. Breakfast was just about edible, if they hadn't taken the full amount off the credit card we would have left straight away.Avoid this hotel at all costs ...
Advantages: food great selection, staff friendly close to town Disadvantages: nothing

I'm really shocked at some of the negative feedback I've seen from people who have stayed at this hotel as I really enjoyed my stay.
I'd read reviews slating the hotel before I booked it but after going to hotels in the past which I've really liked but heard negative feedback from them I knew not to take into account everyones views as we all have different expectations, and some of us are more fussier then others haha!
First of all I'd like to mention how wonderful and welcoming the staff, they really made me and my friend Vicky feel right at home from the minute we entered the hotel!
The food in the Stonecross Manor Hotel is ...
