Roath Park is not only a play park for small children but also a country type park for older people. It contains a large lake as its main centre point that was built during the early days of the park, which itself has been going for 104 years. You used to be able to swim in the lake in about the 1950s but now you would probably be killed if you did as the water is now green. The lake contains a large lighthouse that was built as a memorial to the Scott mission nearly 90 years ago. This was built here to commemorate them dying at Roath Park because the expedition originally set off from the docks in Cardiff docks. You can also go out in a boat over the lake. You can either go in a pedal boat or a rowing boat which you row or pedal yourself or you can go in he large motor boat tour that they do around the lake every half an hour or so during the summer season. Many people also go to just walk around the lake or to feed the many birds such as ducks that live there.
I have rated this SH as you haven't told me where it is, what is your personal opinion of the park, are there bus routes near by? Is it easy to park? Is there any botanical interest. If you added some of these points I would gladly re-read and re-rate.
