The new Robin Hood airport has an impressive terminal building and excellent carparking faciliites. A viewing gallery should be completed in July and there are ample opportunities for people to watch the aircraft take off and land if interested - it came as a surprise to me that lots of people are!! I'm not the only saddo around by a long way.
Inside the terminal, before check-in, there is a Costa Coffee and a Spar. Drinks at the Costa are very good if a little expensive. If you want to visit to see what the place is like, car parking is something like 50p for 15 minutes, £1.50 for up to half an hour and £2.50 for up to an hour - ish! I can't remember the exact times. You pay at a machine in the terminal building.
Though it looks complete, the building is still being developed. I am told a cash machine is planned and this will be a welcome addition.
The range of destinations is steadily increasing and long-haul flights are planned for next year. The runway is LONG! The airport is well served by local buses. A motorway link is planned. Local roads have been improved but are not the best.
I have visited the airport several times and have not yet flown from there but friends and family have.
