Advantages: Beautiful resort - great people Disadvantages: Very Quiet
Roda, Corfu is an excellent holiday if you are looking for a relaxing trip with great weather, lovely food and friendly locals. This is the perfect holiday for couples or older tourists. The scenery is beautiful, very green and plenty of olive groves. The beach was peaceful on both of our visits - but this was September. The beach was pebbles and I prefer sand, but the water was shallow and crystal clear.
We stayed in the same block of apartments ... ...remembered our names, and some of the shop owners also remembered. This is maybe because I am exceptionally white and Scottish and they maybe see more English tourists? But I think they just take a real interest and appreciate folk coming back.
The food is brilliant especially the greek salads with feta and olives. The beef was very tasty and there was also plenty of bars offering full British menus with all the pub faves. The local drink ouzo, ...

Advantages: Small,Village type, local holiday Disadvantages: Poor shopping, gets quite crowded, bit behind the times
...were loads of positives with Roda, but it did appear to be different to the type of holidays i was used to in Tenerife.
Me and the missus stayed at the Roda studios that are virtually on the beach. These were all self catering and clean and modern. Nice bedroom and seperate sitting area so was like home from home where the accomodation was concerned. First thing in the morning to sit on the balcony and watch the sun rise was fantastic.
We used ... ...beach and in the sea. The beach is shingle and does tend to get crowded, but in July you have to expect that anywhere. If you walk to the other side of the bay and round the rock that seprates the bays, there is beaches a lot smaller and quite isolated, perfect for geting away from the crowd. But...people do wonder where you are walking to and its not long before these can fill up as well.
There is no pool at the Roda studios so we used to walk ...

Advantages: plenty of places to eat out Disadvantages: packed shingly beach
july 2005 i went to roda and the first two days i spent was on a packed beach, not what i liked when i want privacy without some other breathing down your neck when your trying to tan, that was untill i spoke to one of the locals who guided me to another section of the beach around the rock face a much quieter part less shingle and all the sun you want, to the far left of the main beach go over the bridge where you will find wild terripins and turtles ... ...horse riding school, cut through the riding school and there is a little path which takes you to this beach, there is a nice little british and greek bar which also provides sun loungers for those people who dont like to get sand in there lotions
there wasnt much to do in roda that i found apart from horse riding a little shopping but with romania just a short boat ride away provides you with amazing tourist views, there are other attractions and ...

Advantages: Lovely hotel, and village, good excursions Disadvantages: Seawater pool, and stray dogs
RODA BEACH HOTEL IN RODA, CORFU. Holiday taken in May '99. Very enjoyable. This hotel was comfortable and quite faultless. One thing my kids didn't like was that the 3 pools were all seawater rather than freshwater. The food was excellent, plenty of choice and being on H/B you could have as much as you wanted. The salads were especially good.
The entertainment team, well, sometimes they were a little dull, and unimaginative, the one night a particularly ... ...probably already put off ny the resident animation team. There was an international feel, with quite a few german guests.
Our excursion to Aqualand was the highlight, it was so clean and inviting and heaps of fun.
Roda village was within walking distance and had a good selection of shops/restaurants/bars etc.
The only thing which I would say spoilt the resort and beach were the number of STRAY dogs allowed to roam around at all times. They looked ...

Advantages: Everything you need for a good holiday Disadvantages: Not much night life
On the North coast of Corfu lies a the small village of Roda. It is nicely placed between the larger towns of Sidari and Acharavi. Roda has a long sandy beach which stretches up to Acharavi, it is kept very clean and cleared of rubbish daily. There is a multitude of small shops, restaurants, bars and cafe's all within easy walking distance of any apartment and the people are very, very friendly.
A lot of places are run by English people who either ... ...There is plenty to do here even though it is a small place, lots of watersports, jet skies, scuba diving, boat and coach trips and horse riding.
Restaurants serve freshly cooked meals at very reasonable prices and there is a good mixture of English, German and Greek food, all of which are very enjoyable. There is also a very recomendable Chinese restaurant which is a must for a meal. Most of the bars serve all types of beer and spirits and the local ...
