replacement charge. The rooms, toilets, pool and hotel itself are very clean however there are issues with the kitchen. On 2 occasions, there were cockroaches swimming in the curry sauce and chicken dish in the buffet. When we complained, these were removed. Other guests had seen this too on separate occasions. Whether these came from the kitchen or landed in the food when it was presented, we will never know but still... its just nasty. The majority of guests are cabin crew who can get very loud and obnoxious. We did actually befriend some nice cabin crew workers but the majority of them cause issues by offending paying guests at pool/bar etc by 'taking over the place', taking all the chairs, loungers, taking over the pool. . . Review of Victoria Resort Golf & Beach, Puerto Plata

I have resorted to five stars for Lough Erne Golf Resort

Advantages: Excellent food, accommodation and service
Disadvantages: None

The Lough Erne Golf Resort and Spa is listed on Ciao as a 4 star hotel, but it is now actually a 5 star facility. I have just reached a milestone age, I celebrated my 40th birthday and I asked my husband to arrange a night away for the two of us, a major logistical feat for us. I am a married mother of three children, aged 8, 5 and 15 months and I work full-time so arranging any free time let alone a night away is something of a major event. Why did we choose the Lough Erne Golf Resort? Well to be honest the decision was not based on any strong desire to play golf, well at least not in February. Basically we were looking for somewhere that would offer us a night of luxury, with good food and comfort and somewhere we would not have to travel too far to get to. Voyager Beach Resort

Advantages: friendly people, rooms, pools, public areas very well looked after, different themes everyday
Disadvantages: food variation... but what was out was tasty!

. Unfortunately as stunning as the beach was, it was filled with beach sellers everyday so no sunbeds or relaxing down there! The complex also had a group of monkeys running around which were so funny and were great fun to watch... just make sure you close your balcony door when you go out!!! Animation were very good, all different activites throughout the day although did leave you alone if you wernt interested. However if you take part you will get colored beads that you can swap in the gift shop, which is probably one of the cheapest hotels gift shops i have stayed in! Evening entertainment was not too great, even the caribbean do it better, they do try, but we gave up by the 3nd night and chilled out in the bar.
