Advantages: beautiful island; excellent food and drink Disadvantages: travel times weren't great
...Recently returned from a week long break in Rhodes staying at the Atlantica BeachHotel in Kolymbia. It is an all-inclusive hotel costing £460 per person for a week at the end of September. For anyone who hasn't been to Rhodes are is looking for an all-inclusive break, I would recommend this without hesitation. The foos is fantastic and you can eat as much as you like. The drink flows until you can have no more and it covers everything including soft drinks, wine, beer and cocktails. Service is brilliant and it is set in a stunning part of the island. The beach is only 200m away and it is a beautiful sand and stone beach. The weather was hot and sunny every day and a tan is easy to get. Did a day trip to Rhodes and Lindos. Lindos is lovely but wouldn't spend more than an hour there. Not a lot to do. Rhodes Town is stunning and would...

Advantages: Warm and friendly people, fantasic scenery. Disadvantages: Dangerous car hire in Lindos
...On my third holiday to Greece we decided to go to Rhodes. I decided on Rhodes because of the history of the island.
Rhodes is a beautiful country with many places to visit. The beaches are sandy and plentiful and the locals are friendly and helpful.
Rhodes Town is large and to see it all you will need a couple of days wandering around all of the narrow streets. The palace of the knights in Rhodes Town is great and the harbour is amazing to imagine the Colossus standing accross.
Other places in Rhodes to visit is the small island off the southern end of Rhodes. This can be got to by wadding through waistheight warm water, and is tremdous fun. Another place to go is the valley of the butterflies (which should really be seen during July when the butterflies are actually there) if not July it is a lovely walk. Kalithea and Seven...

Advantages: Lovely and hot, relaxed atmosphere Disadvantages: pebbly beaches, very windy!
...I went to Rhodes on a last minute deal last year, and I must admit I had a fabulous time. This could have had more to do with my friends than the location itself. I cannot stress enough, though, that Rhodes has many different resorts and they are all of a very different nature! I was staying in Rhodes Town with a couple of friends as we had specifically asked to be as far away from Faliraki as possible! We had seen the programmes on tv and had decided already that this wasn't our cup of tea!
Rhodes town was beautiful - really picturesque - the old town was great to just wander around and see the sights, and get thoroughly lost in! The beach at Rhodes town, however is very pebbly and uncomfortable and extremely windy! We found plenty of other sandier, more sheltered beaches on the island though so this was not a problem. As we were...
