The short train journey will then arrive at the train station where you can pick up a free transfer from the hotels electric powered mini bus. We just walked which was about 10/15mins as it's at the opposite end of the resort. The hotel is beautifully furnished with pine clad on the walls & ceilings in the rooms. You must ask for a Matterhorn view, it will just make your holiday to wake up every morning & see the mountain from your bed. Our room was on the top floor so we had velux windows to really maximise the views. We stayed on a half board & you get a set menu with 2/3 choices. Being pregnant I was limited to what I could eat & if there was nothing suitable on the menu they always offered to make an alternative. The food was outstanding & the dining room is breathtaking, with large windows looking onto the Matterhorn. The hotel is only a short walk to the main strip of shops & restaurants. We went in early May which was a little to late for skiing & too early for high top walking. A lot of the hotels were closed during this period but all the shops & restaurants were still open. There are cable cars & a train which can take you up to the peaks & some beautiful low level walks aswell. I will definately return but would go back in June so we could take some higher walks. One downside the swimming pool was freezing...I couldn't get in for fear or giving birth! Oh & swimwear is optional in the sauna & steamroom!!!
