The architectonic beauty and elegance of the Renaissance building make Romantik Hotel Zum Ritter St. Georg the finest historical and most artistically valuable town house in Heidelberg. And the charm of its nostalgia does not stop at its magnificent apparel - it accompanies the guest of the former trade house through all rooms in every corner of the house. The cloth-dealer Carolus Belier and his wife Fancisca had it built in 1592; today, the venerable gable house of hown stone, full of fluted columns and ornately carved window blocks, is a listed building. \\\Persta invicta, Venus\\\" - these words are inscribed in gold letters on the gable of the Renaissance building. How many renovations the house has seen in its 400 year-history is not documented, but on every occasion the respective owners were aware of this commission when designing the rooms behind the magnificent facade."
...The Radisson SAS Bay Point is a relatively new, 5* hotel in St Julian’s on the north coast of Malta, having been built around the turn of the millennium. The hotel is a 20 minute drive from Luq’a airport and 15 minutes from the centre of Valletta. I was here for work, for a conference organised by the governing party of Malta, who clearly pulled out all the stops, so it is conceivable, although I guess unlikely, that the overwhelmingly favourable impression I have received of this hotel may not be an accurate picture of the hotel. With that disclaimer, I will set out what I have seen.
WHAT THERE IS IN THE HOTEL
The entrance level is on level 2 of the hotel, with the reception desk on the right. On the left is a coffee bar (the Bridge Bar) with leather armchairs and sofas around coffee tables, while ahead of you is another bar...

Advantages: Good food & excellent Matterhorn views Disadvantages: Swimming pool is freezing & swimwear is optional in the sauna!
...I stayed at this hotel in May 2006, whilst 6 months pregnant! It was fantastic! Zermatt is a car free zone so you have to park your car at the large car park outside Zermatt & catch the train. The short train journey will then arrive at the train station where you can pick up a free transfer from the hotels electric powered mini bus. We just walked which was about 10/15mins as it's at the opposite end of the resort. The hotel is beautifully furnished with pine clad on the walls & ceilings in the rooms. You must ask for a Matterhorn view, it will just make your holiday to wake up every morning & see the mountain from your bed. Our room was on the top floor so we had velux windows to really maximise the views. We stayed on a half board & you get a set menu with 2/3 choices. Being pregnant I was limited to what I could eat...

Advantages: Nice architecture, good plays Disadvantages: Panto seems sh*te when compared to Alhambra nearby
...Although a concert hall, Stgeorges is also used for other things such as plays (where I saw a very good performance of Fiddler on the Roof by the Wibsey Amateur Actors society) and even a pantomime (though this seems substandard once you've seen the one at the Alhambra). The decoration and service inside, howver is on a par if not greater than that of the Alhambra although they're both run by the corporation. The architecture on the outside is also brilliant, even enhanced by the 1970's atrocities on Petergate and Hall Ings that surroud it. The quality of performances is also brilliant but this hardly relates to the building itself. It also has a Rendezvous bar if you are meeting up with someone there and if you're staying overnight the Victoria Hotel up the road provides an excellent choice....

My stay at the George V Paris was just the lift I needed after a serious illness. From the minute my husband and I checked in, we were made to feel as if we were the only guests there. Of course we weren't ! We arrived just after the Cannes film festival more
