To Roam aroun Rome by a Roma Pass!
Advantages: Queue jumping, don't have to worry about entrance fees Disadvantages: Can not be cost effective
The Roma Pass was something a work colleague mentioned to me, although she did not know the name just there was some card thing that gets you benefits. So I looked up things to do in Rome and eventually came across the website for the Roma Pass through a link from another website. The Roma Pass website is: http://www.romapass.it/?l=en The website gave me a great insight as to what the card was, there are 2 types of cards, so it explains what both ... ...(red) Roma Pass costs 23 Euros, and the Roma & Piu (blue) Pass costs 25 Euro's. The website goes on to have tabs for museums, events, a virtual tour, information, download and buy. I opted not to buy ours online, and decided I would get them when there. The website sells the cards with this strap line "The Cards that offers you Transport and 2 Museums free of charge as well as Reductions for all other museums and major events." I was sold, I should ...

Sightseeing tourbus -Trambus open
Advantages: Gets you around city with multi lingual commentry Disadvantages: Long queues and finding where to buy tickets
You can buy tickets to ride the trambusopen in the main bus station near the Termini. Two-day tickets cost euros. You can hop on and off the bus at will and multi-lingual commentary is available via headphones provided when you board the bus. Queuing and paying for the tickets took us hours! This was in early October 2005. Have your euros ready, as they only seem to accept credit cards in restaurants. Once aboard the vantage point is most enviable ...

Rome
Advantages: crowded with attractions Disadvantages: too much to see
I was in Rome some weeks ago on holiday. I liked the place a lot - crowded with attractions.
Take care of pick-pockets. They are professionals.
Travel - I walked a lot to enjoy the Romanists' life and attractions. I visited a lot of places and sometimes had to wait 2 hours to enter a place, Capella Sistina. The 2 hours waiting were worthed. I recommend to have a good shoes and walk around. transport is not that much efficient. Not too much people ... ...differ when presenting their bill. Food is good, but must take care not to be screwed.
I stayed in a hotel near the central train station. The hotel Imperia is good, but I had not felt comfortable enough to be out during the night. There are a lot of illegal emigrants around, sometimes drunk. ...

full of the dolce vita!
Advantages: so much to see, do and eat! Disadvantages: none
Rome is a very european city that inspires great enthusiasm, its breathtaking beauty is steeped in history with a surprise around every corner. The city's glorious and often decadent past has shaped modern day Rome with it's magnificent architecture, outstanding cuisine and dolce vita. The hard part of a trip to Rome is fitting it all in with so many sights to see and restaurants to dine in! Some fo the top sightseeing opportunities include: Vatican ... ...best ice cream gelateria's in Rome is at the side of the Pantheon called Cremeria Monforte the chocolate orange is particularly tasty. Trevi Fountain - made famous in the the film La Dolce Vita when Anita Ekberg cooled off in the fountain. It is very impressive but also very busy never a quite moment to be had there. Colosseum - one of the most famous sites in Rome and built in AD 72 it hosted gory battles between gladiators and slaves, prisoners ...

I only write reviews on places/things I love. I LOVE ROME!
Advantages: Beautiful, exciting and vibrant, great atmosphere Disadvantages: Quite expensive as most citys are
It's my favourite city, apart from London where I live. I love the way there are ancient ruins in the middle of modern roundabouts, where pop culture and ancient history exist side by side. I am an art lover, so to see in the flesh so many ancient and incredible paintings and sculptures is fascinating. And then after a day of wondering around, the cafes and squares beckon for a coffee or something stronger. A 'Blue Angel' is particularly potent and ... ...bowl of olives and what more could you want?! I am not a massive shopping fan so stayed away from the malls etc but my friend who I stayed with is a shopaholic so it must be good! It's a very special place to me and one I hope to return to again soon, it's just the prices that are quite difficult at the moment, it's hard to do on a shoe-string when there are so many beautiful places to stay. I'm saving up though! ...
