strategically positioned
Review of Condotti Hotel, Rome by pedritopoulos

Advantages: one minute away from piazza di spagna
Disadvantages: not a dream hotel in a dream place

Amazing position. Its only a few meters away from piazza di Spagna - perhaps Italy's most famous piazza. Girls will love visiting the numerous boutiques of via Condotti. Its strategic position makes it the perfect accommodation if in Rome for the first time. If not, am sure you can find a better deal for your money in a less central area. The personnel is rather kind and helpful- although they charged me in the end a couple of things from the fridge ... Read review

Best Location In Rome
Review of Emmaus, Rome by Ottavia

Advantages: Location, space, staff are friendly, air con
Disadvantages: None

. The Emmaus hotel (three star), centrally located, with plenty of amenities on its door step, spacious rooms and friendly, helpful staff, makes a fantastic hotel. Whether a short break in Rome or a few weeks holiday, Emmaus has so many advantages that it makes any length of stay a stress free and pleasant visit. It's located on Via delle Fornaci (25), which is practically in the Pope's lap. To get to it you can take the Via Di Ciampino road, turning ...
...find yourself in the city. Just follow the signs to the centre and head north . Emmaus is minutes away from the Vatican (one hundred yards to be exact), so once you see that then you're almost there. Or you could take the train from Ciampino airport (Ciampino FS) to Stazione Termini. The fare is €2 and you'll be able to buy your ticket at the desk or news-stand and stamp it in one of the machines before you board a train There's plenty on this street, ... Read review

Cardinal Hotel - Not Bad, Not Bad
Review of Cardinal Hotel St. Peter, Roma by burns2007

Advantages: Reception, Balcony, Breakfast Bar, Rooms
Disadvantages: First Impression

...the taxi to find the Cardinal Hotel, St Peters. - The Address The address suggests that the hotel is basically on the door step of the Vatican its self. I have no idea why it was so similar to the address of the actual St Peters because the Cardinal Hotel is on the out skirts of the city. Even one or two of the taxi drivers who had been around for a while weren't sure where it was. To get to the hotel you have to turn off a main road after avoiding ...
...I first walked into the Cardinal Hotel I found a lounge where you could wait or relax, open to the elements which lead to the reception. When approaching the reception it gave me a very professional impression with clocks for around the world lined up on the wall behind the reception as well as a spotless desk which ran from one side of the room to the other. To Italian staff there were very friendly helping where ever they could from an enquiry ... Read review

Perfect for a short visit
Review of Quality Hotel Nova Domus, Rome by liltoddy91

Advantages: Location and helpfulness of staff.
Disadvantages: Rooms were too hot.

So many might be put off because it is a chain hotel however positioning of this hotel is perfect. Just a few streets away you will find yourself in the Vatican City. However the management of the hotel was organised the rooms were clean and staff were more than willing to give a reccomendation all resturants recommended to us were excellent). If there is a down side in the height of high summer - which again isn't the best time to visit Rome as ...
...installed with central heating were hotter than comfortable room temperature. To conclude the hotel has a good setting near the town centre but seculded enough the hospitality makes you feel at home and the rooms are spotlessly clean. The hotel is perfect for a weekend stay. What more do you want? ... Read review

No fizz in this champagne!
Review of Champagne Palace, Rome by cass30

Advantages: location - next to the termini station
Disadvantages: everything else

...disaster. I booked the Champagne Palace based on its location and the fact it was advertised as a 4 star hotel. It is literally across the road from the Termini station which is its only plus point. On arrival we went into reception and were given a room on the 4th floor. the hotel has one lift which you can see down the lift shaft - not great! Our room was 9 foot long by 8 foot wide. There was barely enough room to move down the side of the double ...
...the light fitting out of the ceiling in the bathroom, the minibar has an open can of coke and bottle of water which was warm, the air conditioning unit was hanging out the wall and when we tried to open the window the handle fell off! We approached reception still with our cases and advised we wanted to move. It took ovr an hour and several calls to the manager before we were advised they had a ground floor room which was an upgrade, however we ... Read review
