A Great Hotel
Advantages: Close to just about everything you'll ever want to see in Rome Disadvantages: It's a hotel, not home.
We've stayed at the Napoleon twice now and it just gets better and better!
Any review is only ever as good as the impression it gives to the reader and how much information can be taken away from it. So let me give you a few facts about this gem of Roman hospitality. Firstly mention simply must be made of the staff because, bless 'em, they are probably what gives the Napoleon it's great, beating heart. English is more and more the lingua franca ... ...Napoleon will find that all the desk staff are pretty fluent. Not only do they speak the language, they do it with a smile and a "can do" attitude which is simply breathtaking. Rooms are kept spotless. Breakfast is inclusive and buffet style, you'll be attended by staff who are alert yet unobtrusive. Metro Line B is just outside the door and if you'd rather walk you're only 15 - 20 minutes away from the historic centre of Rome and only about half ...

A Palace for the budget-minded traveller
Advantages: Cheap, lovely roof terrace, helpful staff, good facilities Disadvantages: Not so close to Rome's attractions
I stayed at this hotel in February 2007 having had to hastily rebook somewhere after BA cancelled flights at the end of January.
I had read a few things about the hotel on the tripadvisor website (excellent source for hotel information) and having weighed up the positive and negative comments I decided to go with it. We ended up paying about 45 Euros between us a night for a standard double - very reasonable in Rome.
Lets start with the location. ... ...by all accounts. This hotel is about 5 minutes walk from the Terminii but in fairness we did not come across any problems at all and in the end it was a blessing to be so close as our coach transfer was to and from the terminii.
From the outside it looks like your standard continental city hotel - nothing special. The reception (open 24 hours) was relatively clean with a nice marble finish and we were seen quicky and the check in was very easy. ...

A beautiful stay in Rome
Advantages: Great Food, Very Clean, Perfect Location Disadvantages: Could go half board
...decided to stay at the Morgana hotel. Because it was her birthday we decided to hire a limo from the hotel to come and pick us up at the airport. When we arrived at the airport, there was a sign for us. We went to the car park all excited then he got to his car and said get in. It wasn't a limo. It was an italian limo, which means a black mercedes van. We didn't realise this, but we just saw the funny side and didn't let it ruin our trip. On the ... ...points around the city and he was telling us the history of certain monuments. He was very friendly and a great member of staff for the hotel. When we arrived at the hotel we were greeted at the reception. We checked in and 2 men took all our luggage up to the rooms as we waited downstairs. There were leaflets at the desk and she was willing to offer advice and where to go in Rome. We went upto the room and it was huge. The ceilings are very high ...

Want to Roam around Rome? - Stay Here!
Advantages: Location, Price and Staff Disadvantages: Nothing, It is what it is!
...Location
********* The Clarin Hotel is a 2 star hotel situated in Via Palermo, a street central to the city centre although on the Eastern side, and approximately a 5 minute walk from Termini Station and a 10-12 minute walk to the Coliseum and many other attractions. I would recommend getting the train from the airport (either of them) to Termini Station as the hotel is 2 roads away from the station, and as long as your case has wheels or bag isn't ... ...I ended up booking the Clarin Hotel via the intermediary Lastminute.com and I don't know how much they charge in commission but I still found it reasonably priced. I have been on city breaks before where we have skimped on spending loads on a hotel in the centre and ended up suffering and having to wait for buses/trams/taxi's to take us in and out. Which ends up costing a bomb. So I decided this trip we would pay the money and stay in the centre ...

Sharing my experience of the Sheraton Roma
Advantages: Comfortable hotel - handy for the metro Disadvantages: Characterless - can be expensive
...booking the Sheraton.
The Sheraton isn't in central Rome, it's in the EUR district. This presented no significant problem however. It's a breeze to find - take junction 26 on the ring road and head for central Rome. Go through the EUR district almost to the very end and turn left at the sign that says 'Sheraton Hotel' (you can see it from the road anyway). It's a big, modern(ish) hotel with absolutely no redeeming features architecturally but all ... ...what you'd expect in a Sheraton - glitzy and shiny with lots of leather sofas dotted around for those little tete-a-tetes, a large area to go online (or as they say ' the Link@Sheraton experienced with Microsoft'), and a large piano bar just off to the side. There's also a small shopping mall with four or five outlets offering gifts, jewellery and tobacco etc.
Having sorted that all out, I went to park the car. The hotel does have (unguarded) free ...
