Ambra Hotel
Advantages: great position beautiful building Disadvantages: a bit pricey but worth it
We stayed for a long weekend in May. The hotel is a beautiful old building which goes back to about about 1850 . Its been completely renovated and has all the mod cons that you would expect in a 4 star hotel. The bedrooms are lovely. We had a double and the bed was extremely comfortable. Breakfast was included in the price and we had a lovely italian breakfast with rich creamy cappuccinos and italian cakes. the buffet was more on the sweet side but ...

Good hotel at a good price
Advantages: Free Continental Breakfast, shuttle bus to the metro, cheap, comfortable Disadvantages: Not enough around the actualy hotel to do
...As with every Express by Holiday Inn, they are all very similar and this one was no different. As we arrived in Rome around 9.30pm and had never been before we took a taxi to the hotel. This didn't take very long and cost €55 but between 3 people this was fine. The hotel offered a price of €50 to pick 2 people up in a private car waiting at the airport where someone waits with a sign with your name on it. As there were 3 of us it made more sense ... ...arrived at the hotel after 10pm it was very quiet in check in was quick and simple. I gave my name and everyone staying was asked for their passport. A copy of all passports were taken and we were issued with our keycard. Our room was on the 6th floor and the lifts were next to reception so very each to get to.
Hotel Rooms
I had booked a room with a double bed and also a sofa bed as there were 3 of us staying in the one room. The keycard has to ...

A Mummy-mummy. I've slept in a pyramid!
Advantages: Cheap, clean, friendly, accessible, genuine "Roman" area, big breakfast. Disadvantages: No lifts, not as close to town as other options.
...I stumbled across The Pyramid Hotel whilst making a last minute booking for a two day break for my wife and I in December 2005 and we have just returned from our long-awaited sojourn. I chose the Pyramid because from the description supplied at www.alpharooms.com the hotel seemed to be close to a metro station which is generally a must when having a city break and it was also very cheap for one nights Bed & Breakfast. The hotel is officially listed ... ...station. From the outside, the hotel is relatively non-descript and if you did not have a vague idea of where to look you may miss the door. Once through the automatic door, you are immediately in a very small reception tastefully kitted out like every other two-star hotel I have ever visited (see my review of Abbot Lodge - Dublin for example). The hotel is so named after the strange pyramid up the road which was built by a Roman noble in 26BC as ...

Best Location In Rome
Advantages: Location, space, staff are friendly, air con Disadvantages: None
.
The Emmaus hotel (three star), centrally located, with plenty of amenities on its door step, spacious rooms and friendly, helpful staff, makes a fantastic hotel. Whether a short break in Rome or a few weeks holiday, Emmaus has so many advantages that it makes any length of stay a stress free and pleasant visit. It's located on Via delle Fornaci (25), which is practically in the Pope's lap. To get to it you can take the Via Di Ciampino road, turning ... ...find yourself in the city. Just follow the signs to the centre and head north . Emmaus is minutes away from the Vatican (one hundred yards to be exact), so once you see that then you're almost there. Or you could take the train from Ciampino airport (Ciampino FS) to Stazione Termini. The fare is €2 and you'll be able to buy your ticket at the desk or news-stand and stamp it in one of the machines before you board a train
There's plenty on this street, ...

Want to Roam around Rome? - Stay Here!
Advantages: Location, Price and Staff Disadvantages: Nothing, It is what it is!
...Location
********* The Clarin Hotel is a 2 star hotel situated in Via Palermo, a street central to the city centre although on the Eastern side, and approximately a 5 minute walk from Termini Station and a 10-12 minute walk to the Coliseum and many other attractions. I would recommend getting the train from the airport (either of them) to Termini Station as the hotel is 2 roads away from the station, and as long as your case has wheels or bag isn't ... ...I ended up booking the Clarin Hotel via the intermediary Lastminute.com and I don't know how much they charge in commission but I still found it reasonably priced. I have been on city breaks before where we have skimped on spending loads on a hotel in the centre and ended up suffering and having to wait for buses/trams/taxi's to take us in and out. Which ends up costing a bomb. So I decided this trip we would pay the money and stay in the centre ...
