Perfect for a short visit
Review of Quality Hotel Nova Domus, Rome by liltoddy91

Advantages: Location and helpfulness of staff.
Disadvantages: Rooms were too hot.

So many might be put off because it is a chain hotel however positioning of this hotel is perfect. Just a few streets away you will find yourself in the Vatican City. However the management of the hotel was organised the rooms were clean and staff were more than willing to give a reccomendation all resturants recommended to us were excellent). If there is a down side in the height of high summer - which again isn't the best time to visit Rome as ...
...installed with central heating were hotter than comfortable room temperature. To conclude the hotel has a good setting near the town centre but seculded enough the hospitality makes you feel at home and the rooms are spotlessly clean. The hotel is perfect for a weekend stay. No fizz in this champagne!
Review of Champagne Palace, Rome by cass30

Advantages: location - next to the termini station
Disadvantages: everything else

...disaster. I booked the Champagne Palace based on its location and the fact it was advertised as a 4 star hotel. It is literally across the road from the Termini station which is its only plus point. On arrival we went into reception and were given a room on the 4th floor. the hotel has one lift which you can see down the lift shaft - not great! Our room was 9 foot long by 8 foot wide. There was barely enough room to move down the side of the double ...
...the light fitting out of the ceiling in the bathroom, the minibar has an open can of coke and bottle of water which was warm, the air conditioning unit was hanging out the wall and when we tried to open the window the handle fell off! We approached reception still with our cases and advised we wanted to move. It took ovr an hour and several calls to the manager before we were advised they had a ground floor room which was an upgrade, however we ... Read review

View of St Peter's from your bedroom!
Review of Starhotels Michelangelo, Rome by spice81

Advantages: Location, staff, room size, breakfast
Disadvantages: none

I stayed in the Hotel Michelangelo while on a work trip to Rome in December 2007 and i can't fault the hotel. We were holding a conference in their meeting rooms and they were nothing short of amazing in terms of helping us plan the event. As a place to stay, the hotel was perfect. The bedrooms were really large. I had a twin room to myself and it was massive. i'm not sure how much we paid for the rooms, but as a charity, i know it wouldn't have ...
...value for money and helped make our conference such a success. The breakfasts were brilliant and plentiful and the buffet lunch we had was great. The hotel is in the perfect spot for sightseeing in Rome. We arrived late at night, but headed straight out to explore the city - easy to do with such a perfect location right next to St Peter's - i could see the dome from my bedroom!! I can't fault the hotel at all - i'd definitely recommend it for either ... Read review

'Heaven and Hell' Hotel Aleph Boscolo Rome, Italy
Review of Boscolo Aleph, Rome by CDub

Advantages: Funky Theme, really nice room, Central Location
Disadvantages: Small pool/ gym area

We booked Hotel Boscolo online through Expedia.com and got a really good last minute deal. We drove there- it was quite difficult to find down a small street and we had to pay for valet parking as you may expect in central Rome but the concierge were really friendly and helpful as were the reception staff- we booked a double room but were upgraded as they had space which was a nice touch. Our room was stunning and decorated in a totally unique and ...
...Overall I would definately recommend Hotel Boscolo as it is in an excellent location- we walked to pretty much all the sights and it is a bit different- the decor is really cool and it's a fun place to stay for a couple of nights on a short break. ... Read review

A friendly staffed hotel
Review of Relais Vaticano, Rome by funky_frankie888

Advantages: Clean, comfortable, helpful staff
Disadvantages: None!

...is very fast and often wreckless and drivers do not always stop to let pedestrians cross the roads. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay. The rooms were clean and air-conditioned and the atmosphere was very friendly. I would strongly recommend the Relais Vaticano hotel for short stays. ... Read review
