Perfect for a short visit Advantages: Location and helpfulness of staff. Disadvantages: Rooms were too hot. So many might be put off because it is a chain hotel however positioning of this hotel is perfect. Just a few streets away you will find yourself in the Vatican City. However the management of the hotel was organised the rooms were clean and staff were more than willing to give a reccomendation all resturants recommended to us were excellent). To conclude the hotel has a good setting near the town centre but seculded enough the hospitality makes you feel at home and the rooms are spotlessly clean. The hotel is perfect for a weekend stay. Excellent, definately be back Advantages: Central, beside termi station, lovely rooms, rooftop garden bar. Disadvantages: No restaurant, just breakfast room and rooftop bar opens at 7 I cannot praise this hotel enough. I got married in rome recently and booked this hotel for me and my guests and was more than happy. This hotel is great. The rooms are lovely , clean, the staff are great. Its in a great location. Most of the big sites were within 5-10 mins walking distance, trevi fountain, colousium, etc. Its on Romes main shopping street. The breakfast is lovely. The don't have a restaurant, but have a lovely rooftop garden, which ... ...have background music and they have snacks, cocktails. There is an irish pub 2 doors down from it if your feeling hungry for a bigger meal. The staff are so helpful and friendly. Its is also 2 mins walk from Tremi station so all you have to do is get a bus or train to there and its a 2 mins walk down the street. No fizz in this champagne! Advantages: location - next to the termini station Disadvantages: everything else ...disaster. I booked the Champagne Palace based on its location and the fact it was advertised as a 4 star hotel. It is literally across the road from the Termini station which is its only plus point. On arrival we went into reception and were given a room on the 4th floor. the hotel has one lift which you can see down the lift shaft - not great! Our room was 9 foot long by 8 foot wide. There was barely enough room to move down the side of the double ... ...the light fitting out of the ceiling in the bathroom, the minibar has an open can of coke and bottle of water which was warm, the air conditioning unit was hanging out the wall and when we tried to open the window the handle fell off! We approached reception still with our cases and advised we wanted to move. PIAZZA NOVONA FOUNTAINS TO DIE FOR Advantages: Location. Disadvantages: Breakfast We have stayed at the Hotel Navona on two occassions. Its Location would be hard to beat. You are only 1 minute from The Piazza navona one of Romes Busiest Piazzas and also Photogenic. The Hotel is found down a small side street. The entrance on occassions due to renovation has looked like a building site, other times looks quite inviting. The lobby is on the second Floor (no lifts in this one im afraid, but you are talking OLD BUILDINGs. The lobby ... ...for sale the Hotel buys them up and extends itself. Some rooms are QUAIT and Old fashioned, with a tiny bathroom in the wall. While if you can get rooms at the Top its very modern as they have been restored, they say Keats and Shelly stayed in the building, but you hear that of most places in Rome, they must have moved around a lot. the Owner has an Australian twang to him, but of Italian stock. Le Caprice - birthday visit Advantages: Well known for celebrity viewing Disadvantages: Tables close together Myself, my partner and my teenage son paid a visit to this restaurant for my partner's birthday. It was relatively easy to get a table (although I did book 3 months in advance!). I needed to extend the booking to include my son and they were very pleased to do so. Upon arrival we were shown to our table, which was at the far end of the restaurant but afforded a good view of the entrance (with many personalised plates adorning the cars!) and the ... ...the crispy duck was indeed crispy - bordering on rock hard! The main courses were mouth watering (although they do not come with vegetables and we were not asked if we wanted them at the time of ordering!) The desserts were out of this world (honeycomb ice cream to die for!) and my partner's dessert arrived with 'happy birthday' beautifully piped on the plate.
