...really was! It is a very beautiful and elegant hotel indeed. The entrance to the hotel is via an automatic revolving door which takes you into the large lobby. The lobby is all marble floors and cherry wood furniture, every inch clean and polished to perfection. I booked into this hotel on the basis that it was relatively cheap for a so called 4 star hotel. Pros: - Staff were friendly - Rooms were actually appartments with fridges etc Cons: - Rooms were very old fashionned - did not seem to have been decorated for 30 odd years. - No bath, only a shower. - Shower did not drain very well and therefore had to limit showers to a couple of mins. - There was a high charge to use the swimming pool (may ...

...around £70 per night. Crowne Plaza is located 3km from Rome centre, there was a courtesy bus to take guests from the hotel to Vatican City or Rome Centre, several times a day.
