It's my favourite city, apart from London where I live. I love the way there are ancient ruins in the middle of modern roundabouts, where pop culture and ancient history exist side by side. I am an art lover, so to see in the flesh so many ancient and incredible paintings and sculptures is fascinating. And then after a day of wondering around, the cafes and squares beckon for a coffee or something stronger. A 'Blue Angel' is particularly potent and the perfect antidote to a long day. Nibble on a bowl of olives and what more could you want?! I am not a massive shopping fan so stayed away from the malls etc but my friend who I stayed with is a shopaholic so it must be good! It's a very special place to me and one I hope to return to again soon, it's just the prices that are quite difficult at the moment, it's hard to do on a shoe-string when there are so many beautiful places to stay. I'm saving up though!
l am glad to hear that you love Rome; however, l agree with Linda and Christine that your description could fit many different places ... you need to (using "Edit review" link above or on your profile) make a paragraph or two to discuss each of the topics you introduce in your paragraph review above ... I would love to visit Rome (at least l thought l would when l was younger and fit enough to walk everywhere!) ... l studied art and architcture at school; as well as latin, so l probably have an outdated vision of Rome in my mind ... perhaps you could discuss the way these have changed for the benefit of those of us who cannot see for ourselves, and enliven the review with little stories about your own experiences!

I would love to hear more about the entire city, the buildings the history the archetecture the people the food. Expanding this adding such deatils including your feelings and favourite likes of the place would make it into a really great review. I find that if I need a refresher for my memory I take a look at my photographs and check the guide books for references and information to jog the little grey cells. This is one place I would love to go to so I would like to hear more. I am not critisizing mearly passing along so advice. SHould you expand this I will be happy to rerate it

Sorry for low rating but there is so much more that could be said about Rome. More info, ie hotels, travel around the city, getting to Rome etc would enhance the review and earn you higher ratings. If you edit, please let me know, happy to re-read and rate accordingly. Linda x
