What a city. It seems to have everything.
If its culture you are after there is so much to see and the advantage is it is spread over a relatively small area. Even if you only spend a day in Rome you will have the opportunity to see the sights everyone else talks about. The Forum, St Peters, Vatican City, The Trevi fountains, the river Tiber, the coliseum and so much more.
If you are in Rome you will be able to see these in a leisurley fashion but if you are staying elswhere and get the opportunity for a flying visit for the day do not despair, jump at the chance. You will be surprised at how much you will be able to see and, of course photograph. It will be an unforgetable experience.

Advantages: Amazing historical city, great food, great wine (great souvenirs), beautiful Disadvantages: Tourist masses can induce demophobia, umbrella men, deciding what to do
