I was in Rome some weeks ago on holiday. I liked the place a lot - crowded with attractions.
Take care of pick-pockets. They are professionals.
Travel - I walked a lot to enjoy the Romanists' life and attractions. I visited a lot of places and sometimes had to wait 2 hours to enter a place, Capella Sistina. The 2 hours waiting were worthed.
I recommend to have a good shoes and walk around. transport is not that much efficient. Not too much people speak English.
Restaurants use to display prices which may differ when presenting their bill. Food is good, but must take care not to be screwed.
I stayed in a hotel near the central train station. The hotel Imperia is good, but I had not felt comfortable enough to be out during the night. There are a lot of illegal emigrants around, sometimes drunk.

Sorry but I don't feel you have really met the brief here. This could be about any town in any country. There is a hell of a lot more you could actually tell us about Rome, the tourist attractions, way of life etc etc. This really tells me nothing. I f you ever update please let me know and I will be only too happy to re-rate. Av

This doesn't really tell me very much about Rome, have a look at some of the other reviews on this subject to get an idea of the level of information you need to include. You will find that you will gain far more ratings if you produce one quality review a week rather than several. Also try writing your reviews in something like word first to spot any spelling mistakes and other typing errors, then simply copy and paste it into the review section.

You will nearly always find areas near Railway Stations not the place to stay. Try Tratevere next time and you will enjoy wandering at night. The public Transport system in Rome in fact is very good, just be as you say carful of Pickpockets on the popular Tourist Bus that runs from the Station to St Peters. But walking is usually best. Ciao Steve.

Advantages: unique city complete with canals, cheap water taxis, good food, great history! Disadvantages: can get overcrowded with tourists, canals can be smelly in summer, St Marks Sq quite expensive!
