Advantages: Good setting on Baga Rd, close proximity to bars and restaurants Disadvantages: Could be noisy at the front of the hotel
...would say that the The Ronil Beach Resort appeared to be one of the better hotels in Baga, although the decor in the rooms is tired and the bathrooms need re-furbishing, this is the only downside - there is room service, laundry service and fresh towels daily. Most important of all it is CLEAN. The staff are brilliant, always smiling, polite and very hard working.

After exploring the resort, I would say that the The Ronil Beach Resort appeared to be one of the better hotels in Baga, although the decor in the rooms is tired and the bathrooms need re-furbishing, this is the only downside - there is room service, laundry service and fresh towels daily. Our room was in one of the two storey blocks beside the main pool area, which was a sanctuary. In the rooms closer to the front of the hotel, the traffic noise from the busy and sometimes chaotic road would have been unbearable.
The air con is FREE and can be left switched on even when you are out. We travelled in April/May when the heat can be relentless, even at night, so this was a big benefit. We did not have any problems with bugs in the hotel, bar a couple of roaches, which is too be expected. I think the air con luckily keeps them at bay!
The hotel restaurant must also get praise. The terrace is open all day serving snacks and will serve food and drinks to you around the pool. The pool area transforms at night into a dining area accompanied by a live music (dubious, but entertaining!) and is lit softly by fairy lights. On arrival each guest is given 3 complimentary meal tokens per week, which will easily cover a 3 course evening meal. The food in the hotel is exceptional - I can highly recommend the fresh seafood dishes from the Tandoori oven and the traditional Goan curries which were really delicious.
One word of warning though: On my first day I changed £100 into rupees, which in retrospect was too much and was a LOT of notes. The man on the desk counted out the rupees twice, then passed to his colleague to double check. Then they were passed to me - I did not count them until I got back to my room as I did not expect the amount to be short, but it was and was probably intentional. BUT, this was the only instance this happened on the whole trip, in the hotel and all the shops and restaurants we visited.
All in all, I would certainly return to Ronil Beach. I think the effort is made to make guests feel welcome and entertained and this is far more important to me than the qualities of a luxurious room!!!
