Advantages: Large and clean Disadvantages: For the older generation
This was a lovely large and very clean hotel. The room I stayed in had 2 single beds, there was ample room to move around and also space for our golf clubs and baggage. The furnishings were minimul in the room with a dressing table,bedside tables,a chair and a mini bar.There were large built in cupboards for all our clothes.The bathroom was very clean, with a bath and a shower inside the bath.,there was a full length mirror and a hair dryer on the wall.The balcony of the room had a table and 2 chairs and looked out onto the swimming pool area .The breakfast was a buffet style and was quite varied between fry ups, cold meat, fruit,cereal,rolls,toast,fruit juice etc. The staff didn't have a good grasp of English.The entertainment at night was an organist with people up slow dancing.It definately wasn't an hotel for people looking ...

The three star CostaBravahotel in Tossa de Mar is situated approximately 200 metres from the beach and 150 metres from the resort centre. Barcelona is only 48 miles away and easily accessible from the nearby train service, which runs approx every 20 minutes.
Tossa itself is full of many small shop, bars, café's and restaurants, there is also a land train service, which runs about every 20 minutes, for a couple of Euros' it will take you all around resort, or jump of at its many stops, there is a large weekly market, for all your bargains and holiday trinkets.

FOOD: Self-catering necessitates shopping, obviously, and in this respect El Mirador is fairly well positioned. There are a number of large supermarkets in the nearby area, however the best of these is probably the Champion in PlatjaD'Aro, about a 15-minute drive away, to the south of Calonge. This supermarket is new, clean and well presented with an excellent selection of produce. In Palamos, there is an Intermarche, a depressing and frankly grimy affair on the one occasion we visited it, with fat blowflies swirling over semi-rotten fruit, and an untidy and chaotic sequence of aisles.
