After flying back from Murcia just 24 hours ago, I feel I should share my experiences of San Javier Airport with you.
LOCATION
Set in Eastern Spain, San Javier is located about 45Km southeast of Murcia but is also known as Murcia Airport. So when you are flying to this airport expecting to be close to the city, think again.
We were unaware of this fact even after picking the car up. We only found this out on our return to Murcia and wondered why we could not find the Airport. After asking for directions in central Murcia (as the airport is not signposted ANYWHERE) it was more luck than judgement we found our way back!
The airport is constructed right on the coast and on final approach you are nearly kissing the med with your undercarriage. For those nervous fliers, close the window blinds for landing!

we arrived at murcia airport and paid 60 euros for our extra insurance and as we were having the car for 4 weeks no problem. When we arrieved home my credit card statement was for 120 euros , when enquiring with our booking company carjet we were told that 60 euros for insurance and 60 euros for petrol. I thought this was was rather excesive as the ford fusions tank only held 44 litres (44 litres at about 1euro per litre = aprrox 44euros)this makes 16 euros profit . Maybe they buy their fuel at a differrent source I doubt it. I would just like to make sure that other people check to make sure that they dont fall into the same mistake as we did and ask questions at the counter. ...

BOOKING
We found this by doing a websearch and after sorting through different sites, we eventually booked through www.ownersdirect.co.uk
This site lists different types of accommodation in various locations, it shows pictures of the properties and has a good description, you choose your property and then contact the owner.
Booking was easy, we only booked a couple of weeks before departure and contacted the owner by e mail, who then rang us back.
FLIGHT
We booked our own flight to Murcia and this was an exceptional deal, taking advantage of some of the low cost airlines who now fly there. Alicante is also within easy ...
