Approximately 4 months ago, my mom and I decided to make a small escapade in London; she never having gone there, and I having gone there several times and having liked. I shall be use to her as guide-interpreter within the limits of my linguistic capacities.

I thus have to make our small journey on lastminute.com. The choice of hotels came, I thus took the Rose Court Hotel for his geography-quality-price.

*.,.-:*'``'*:-.,_,.-:* GEOGRAPHIC SITUATION *:-.,_,.-:*'``'*:-.,.*

The hotel is situated in 35, Great Cumberland Place. Very practical, it is in 2 minutes on foot of the subway station of Marble Arch but also several stops of bus. Of the airport of Heathrow, we put coming approximately 45 minutes there metro. The Rose Court Hotel is in the Northeast point of Hyde Park, just man next to Oxford Street.

*.,.-:*'``'*:-.,_,.-:* THE HOTEL GENERALLY *:-.,_,.-:*'``'*:-.,.*

The Rose Court Hotel (2 **) is an elegant victorian building, which was lady Jennie Churchill's house. There are 43 rooms. The first impression by returning is not bad. Of big red sofas, and a very pleasant desk clerk. The room being ready only at 2 pm adds us obliged to wait... Our room is in the first floor, and we have to take a ridiculously small elevator, doubtless of time, and just man was handed in standards... Not very practical with suitcases. Load max: 2 persons. All the doors which we cross to arrive at the room click very hardly...

*.,.-:*'``'*:-.,_,.-:* THE ROOM *:-.,_,.-:*'``'*:-.,.*

When we entered, we found our rather small room for two persons. Carpet, wallpapers, very classic. A bed two persons with a sort of stuffed bedhead (rather indescribable in fact) with registrations in Latin top, and an enormous covers bed in the floral motives. Big opaque curtains let suspect a big window which looks onto a balcony (shared with both adjacent rooms); we look onto the street, and we cannot open the window totally, just to half-open to allow to pass a little of air... rather colour mahogany. In the only night table, a whistling kettle, a bags of tea and Nescafé, some sugar, etc. Given the price of a simple tea in the British capital, it is rather apréciable. There is a tv in the angle, but taken out of the BBC and of CNN, we get nothing... What a pity!

Let us pass now in the room of bath: a square of 1.80mx1.80m. Very small. When we are on wc, we can brush themselves teeth if we are not too big; when we are a little more, we can brush themselves hair or make up without problem. The washbasin and the mirror are really any small, the bathtub is it of a suitable size, but, oh, surprised, the cap is too small for the hole... Small feint to avoid that we have baths! And indeed we can take it all the same, na! It is enough to put the tap water profoundly, the water has no time to pass by! There is a distributor of soap for hands Dove and one the other shampoing-shower Lux, and a hairdryer.

Towels are changed every day, and sheets everything two days.

Two inconveniences in this room:
No direct telephone line, it is necessary to pass by the standard
The noise! We looked onto the street. It is an old building, and there is no double glazing. Personally, noise or not, me, I fall asleep everywhere, and I need a lot to wake me. But my mother, her, had many difficulties finding the sleep.

*.,.-:*'``'*:-.,_,.-:* THE BREAKFAST *:-.,_,.-:*'``'*:-.,.*

First of all, breakfasts takes itself only from 8 hours, what appears to me enough late... Then, the room would deserve to be seriously refreshed, the painting having really been hasty... The staff (who does also the housework) consists of girls, who, in their accent, seems to me to come from the Eastern Europe, and is very pleasant and available. The breakfast is when to him of a distressing commonness:
- Toasts
- Tea or coffee
- Jams (blackberry, raspberry, strawberry, marmalade, honey)
- Butter
- Cold milk
- Orange juice (not of the truth)
- Corn flakes The omelet is supplement in 2£, the omelet-bacon in 4£. Thus to avoid...

*.,.-:*'``'*:-.,_,.-:* CONCLUSION *:-.,_,.-:*'``'*:-.,.*

The hotel is just correct, but I expected in better by choosing it... A small complete revision would be to make... I saw widely worse as hotel, but much better, also, even in this category...
For rates, they are of 59£ / night in the week for two persons, and 85£ the week-end.

I could make a patronising comment about your English, but as it's immeasurably better than any attempt I could make at writing in French (and better than many English speakers' attempts to write English on Ciao), I won't. Paul
