Advantages: Fantastic animals & animal shows Disadvantages: Really difficult to navigate, death trap of a cable car
We went to Hong Kong in January 2009. We were on our Honeymoon and spent a few days here before flying off to Malaysia. We tried to fit in as much as we could whilst there and one of the things we did was take a visit to Ocean Park.
So how did we get there?
Ocean Park operates its own bus service from the central bus terminal loacted next to a central metro station. It is really easy to get around on the metro, so no problem at all getting to the bus.
Cost
At the bus teminal we had the option to pay for a return bus journey and entry into the park. We chose this option for ease and because it was relatively inexpensive. We had no idea what the entry fee would be when we got to the park. I believe we paid about a tenner each - not bad for for transport both ways and the entry fee.

Advantages: A fun-filled day out, educational as well as entertaining Disadvantages: Long walks and queues can be lengthy
Whenever we are on holiday in HongKong, we are sure to visit Ocean Park.
It costs about £16 for an adult (half price for child) but via a promotional offer we paid less than twelve quid for a ticket.
The theme park is split into two parts, and these are connected by a cable car ride system. The Lowlands - which is where the main entrance is situated - is where the Giant Pandas can be seen. I only saw An An this time around, so I have yet to see the new arrivals Le Le and Ying Ying. But the disappointment of the day was that lunch at the Boardwalk Cafe was pretty poor. Should have went to the McDonald's there.
Much of the main attractions are at the Headlands, however if the cable car ride getting there was off-putting first time around, there's the Tai Shue Wan entrance/exit to take visitors back down to the Lowlands. Of the rides ...
Advantages: Great transportation links Disadvantages: none
When trying to decide on a hotel for our trip to Hong Kong we did a lot of research and opted for the Metro Park Hotel in Causeway bay rather than its sister hotel in Kowloon. This was mainly due to its location in a quieter part of town and its superb transport links. The hotel is roughly three quarters of an hour from the airport and the bus to the airport stops at the door of the hotel, as our transport was included we did not use that option. It is well located too with the MTR station being just along the road, the trams passing the end of the road and the bus to Stanley also just a short walk away. The hotel also runs free transport to Causeway Bay shopping area and also Wan Chai for the conference centre and star ferry.
The hotel has car parking on the ground floor and you enter the reception on the first floor by lift ...
