Fabulous Vancouver!

Advantages: Great city, great food, good value for money once you're there
Disadvantages: Expensive to get to and long flight there

American city. Downtown is made up of several distinct areas such as Gastown and Chinatown, and venturing a little further will take you to places such as Richmond, which hosts a Chinatown night market much bigger than one that is held in downtown Chinatown. The city is often used as a stop off to the nature of the rest of the province of British Colombia, with national parks and ski resorts such as Banff and Whistler. The beautiful Vancouver Island is also close by (sadly I didn't get to go there). It isn't so far over the border to the state of Oregon in the USA, and Seattle is a short plane or longer bus, train or car journey away. DOWNTOWN VANCOUVER Out trip began in Vancouver, the first time either of us had been to the west coast of North America. The long flight (about 10 hours) meant that we ended up at our downtown ...

In touch with nature

Advantages: Independent activity, stress free, shuttlebus (which we didn't use)
Disadvantages: limited refreshments so bring your own picnic

What a monumental place! Jog, cycle, rollerskate or just stroll hand in hand with the one you love. Most of our 3 day stay in Vancouver ended up in Stanley Park: visiting the Aquarium, walking around the harbour wall, sitting at Beaver Lake, or ambling the many footpaths. More a forest than a park, trees of majesty make one feel minuscule. Some of the park is off limits as work is done to manage the forest after the recent storms that destroyed a lot of it. My advice is to pick up a map from one of the kiosks at the edge of the park and read the signs for information on closed off areas. If in doubt follow the crowds. The fact there were lots of people of all ages about made us feel safe. Yet there were many moments to be alone, leaning against a log on the beach, or walking around the Rhododendrum Garden. ...

WOW WHAT A PLACE TO BE

Advantages: ACRES AND ACRES OF FUN AND ENJOYMENT
Disadvantages: NOT A THING

interesting you can get a nice up close look of a polar bear (my favorite) and even some monkeys and other typical zoo animals. The only disadvantage and really I'm just reaching for something here is that you do need to pay to enter the aquarium but that's it everything else in the park is free (except parking) So if you're ever in Vancouver Please make sure to visit Stanley Park it's a great place to visit and to just hang out and this is for both adults and especially children When I was living in Vancouver I found that my girlfriend (now wife), my friends and I would often just go to Stanley park just to hang out in the sun or even drive the beautiful scenic road through the trees it was nice it made you feel like you were out of the city ??ohhhh I miss it so ...
