Watch out for your batteries!

Advantages: Good domestic and West African network
Disadvantages: Having to transit Casablanca

...limited range of reviews about Royal Air Maroc that I have managed to fine on various sites hosting airline reviews.

This was a holiday and I was to join a one week organised tour so my priorities were on having a flight on time more than anything else, however my low expectations were set to boost the degree to which this airline was to impress me.

Facts about Royal Air Maroc

Founded in 1953 this state ...
...the business section on the Royal Air Maroc planes used comprised 12 seats in a 2-2 configuration, which is certainly one up on most Western European carriers. The economy cabin had a 3-3 configuration but as noted, the plane was lightly loaded and anybody who wanted three seats could have them.

The flight

The safety demonstration was performed before take off. This entailed all one would expect.

Marrakech Experience

Advantages: hot, friendly

spices but its not hot and spicy. Kofta is also another local dish its mince beef which is cooked in a tomatoe sauce and looks like meatballs but its very tasty. Helwa is another word for cakesand sweets. Olives and spices are some of the local produces. They only have very fresh food there. Friday is the day when most people eat couscous which is like a fine rice which you have with veg and lamb or chicken. +++Accomdation+++ You can pick accomdation up from around £10.00 per night it is just basically bed, bathroom and can have up to 3 beds per room. Its cheap enough to eat out. +++ Flight Operators+++ There are a lot more choices now to fly to Morocco. Not just BA or Royal Air Maroc which do tend to be on the expensive side. Easyjet, Ryanair, Thomsonfly, No Frills airlines all go to Morocco now. Marrakech is obviously the most ...

The New Moroccan Role

for the rest of the journey. How could you contemplate any other route? Unfortunately, constraints of time and money mean that most of us, myself included, not only contemplate other routes, but take them. It?s simplest to fly direct to Marrakech from a number of UK airports. Easyjet, Ryanair, and Royal Air Maroc all do it, as do some charter carriers serving packaged tour operators. We flew Easyjet from Gatwick, which was quite cheap and went perfectly smoothly. When to go If any refutation were needed of the notion that one can?t have too much heat, Marrakech would provide it, with summer temperatures soaring into the mid-40s Celsius (c.110F), which must feel a bit like being cooked in a tagine. Late Autumn or early Spring would be good, though I understand Easter is regarded as a peak period and is priced accordingly ...
