The Obligatory Background Blurb I spent the first year of my University life in a hall of residence that is quite literally a neighbour of the Royal...

In 1995 I was involved in The National Festival of Music for Youth and made it to the finals in the Royal Festival Hall (not Albert Hall). In the finals we came second, meaning we didn't get the opportunity to play in the Royal Albert Hall. I had seen clips of the RAH on the television (last...

Progood venue for music and concerts

Consa bit out of the way

The Royal Albert Hall is interesting in design but there is little else in the vicinity ,except for the Prince Albert memorial, by way interest to attract the visitor. It is one of those buildings which most visitors like to have their photograph taken against for their album but that is about it...

ProMusic is Splendid!

Consnone.

ProA truly awesome spectacle

ConsDifficult parking - better to use the tube

I have visited the Royal Albert Hall twice and have found it an exceptional experience each time. The first visit was last year to see Cliff Richard. My partner and I were seated in a box. The view was impressive and the accoustics superb. The second visit was earleir this year to The Moody Blues...

ConsNot the easiest place to get to

If this place is standing 5000 years from now, people will be as impressed then as they are now. I went there to see the Eels play a special gig with just the lead singer, a drummer and a violin quartet, and I was just stunned. Even the near 2 hour wait for the Eels to show up was no big deal, I...

The Royal Albert Hall is about to play host to the 106th season of Henry Wood Promenade Concerts (July 2000) - one of the world's best loved classical music traditions. For almost two months, the hall hosts some of the world's best musicians playing some of the finest pieces of classical music...
