The worst hotel we have ever stayed in. Great location and seemingly grand but OH NO. Carpets need steam cleaning in whole hotel, springs sticking up through the mattress, changed rooms, not much better. Walls grubby, windows and furniture chipped and scratched and stripped bare, dinner an overcooked expensive disaster and no LIFT for the four days we were there. No one seems to be in control here, or have any sense of urgency. Manager rude. Staff friendly but not supervised. Stick a piece of paper on the lift doors and forget it. Try walking up and down to the 4th floor and with luggage. There are plastic statues with missing arms in the lobby. I was afraid of bed bugs due to dirty scotch blanket on bed and old, faded bed cover. What a terrific location and pity that no one seems to think it's worth investing in a re-do. Would gladly have paid even more for a clean stay. NEVER AGAIN. Brittania hotels should be ashamed.
