I was interested to read other opinions on Royal Brunei Airlines and thought that I would add mine as I was most impressed by them. I was due to fly to Oz from London in April and having travelled economy Down Under previously I said to myself never again! I decided to treat myself for once and set about searching for a good value business class flight on the net and found Royal Brunei. As business class to Australia can be anything from £3000 upwards the cost of the return flight at £1600 seemed to be a bargain. I didn't really know what to expect , having never flown business in my life but can honestly say it was the best money I have ever spent on air travel. Firstly one can check in without having to queue, then one can relax in a comfortable, peaceful business departure lounge where food, drink are on tap and someone comes and collects you for boarding. The business cabin I was in only had 12 seats and was not by any means full. The reclining chairs, and the legroom were bliss. One virtually has one's own personal flight attendant who has already learnt your name (!) takes your luggage and stows it for you, helps you settle, offers you a hot flannel and an exotic drink, magazines, whatever you want before you have even taken off. Nothing is too much trouble and you are attended to constantly throughout the flight. (If anything it almost got too much!) The food was excellent, and a good variety of choice. Lovely to have real china to eat off and cutlery to use. Royal Brunei, being a Moslem airline is 'dry' but if you fly business or first you may take on your own alcohol if you wish. The 'travel pack' given contained a very good selection of toiletries, and the usual toothbrush/toothpaste/socks etc. Stopovers for refuelling mean that you can use the business class lounges again where you can smoke, drink, eat, snooze in comfort until someone collects you for boarding again. All in all, I arrived this time feeling fine and relaxed and not cramped, aching and miserable after a long haul economy flight. It is my only experience of business class, but I was most impressed at the service and level of comfort - at a price so much lower than other airlines. Much recommended.

Sounds like a great experience and very good value for a trip that long. Well done! Barbara
