Prague Castle

Advantages: Great view
Disadvantages: Waste of money

certainly very interesting. Golden Lane while very pretty is just a row of gift shops. I was personally shocked that they actually charge you to go to a gift shop...surely that's not good for business! -Old Royal Palace Interesting building. It's a shame that they don't have any information up anywhere about it. I would have liked to have found out some information about this building but didn't realise until after we went in that there wasn't any information written anywhere and by that point it was too late to get an audio guide. -General- This was a very disappointing day out. I was expecting so much and it delivered so little. First of all my ticket was supposed to cover the short tour which according to their website includes The Story of Prague Castle. I was really looking forward to seeing this and then when we arrived we ...

Hotel In prague

Advantages: Reasonably cheap accomodation
Disadvantages: No in house Restaurant, No Room Service

The accomodation Upon checking in to the accomodation I was asked for my Passport, so they could check the details of the booking I had made under my own name. I guess they use this procedure against breakages and in case of theft, trouble etc. I have not known this to be a feature in accomodation in England. This company procedure did not bother me whatsoever. I travelled alone to this accomodation, having booked a small room, however when I was shown my room I am sure it would have been suitable for two people. As I was staying in prague for two nights on a leisurely short city break, this did not particularly bother me too much regarding the standard of the facilities. When I was shown my room there were two single Bed's situated side-by-side. The Bed's to my eyes looked nineteen eightees style old fashioned beds ...

Review of Pension Beetle Hotel, Prague

Czech out the Hilton Prague!

Advantages: A luxurious way to enjoy this beautiful city!
Disadvantages: It's not exactly centrally located. A minor irritation if you're a tourist.

It's rare, I know. My young son, Josh (Bless 'im), who is now 4 years old doesn't feature in the body of this review since he stayed with his Grandmother whilst I treated Amanda to a St Valentine's / pre-40th birthday trip to Prague. Had the weather been warmer, I reckon that he would actually have loved it, since Prague actually has quite a lot on offer for kids, even if it's billed as a fairly adult location. We spent two nights there, stayed at the Hilton, and concentrated on more grown-up things. I'm certainly not saying that we hired the prostitutes that, apparently, are two-a-penny. I'm just saying that we didn't watch a single episode of "Scooby Doo" during our very pleasant stay. And, frankly, that was something of a relief (with full apologies to Scooby, Scrappy and the rest of the litter). So - down to the review proper ...
