few hotels in Switzerland build in the Victorian Style. No matter if Victorian or modern, our rooms are individually furnished and equipped with all comfort.

...I stayed here with my mom for 2 nights and we truly enjoyed our stay. Before booking, we did some research online and this hotel has been ranked first place on another review website so we thought this would be our best choice.
We paid CHF 130 per room per night and this rate includes breakfast. The hotel is run by Chris and Ursula and this couple is great ! They told us everything we needed to know about our stay in Interlaken and suggested us a few itineries to follow. The main highlight for our stay was the trip to Jungfraujoch and Chris told us it's best to go up via Grindelwald and down via Lauterbrunnen. He even gave us directions to restaurants and a tour route of Interlaken.
Location of hotel: Interlaken is a very small town and there are many hotels near the train station. There are two train stations in Interlaken...

...This is a great 4 star hotel in the centre of interlaken, close to all public transport including the 2 rail stations. Rail and bus travel is cheap in Switzerland.
It is close to the centre of interlaken and has amazing views of the Jungfrau.
It has a great restaurant and bar in the hotel as well as lovely gardens.
This is a family friendly hotel with good disabled facilities.
The staff offer excellent customer service and they speak french, english and german so helpful to all visitors.
The hotel is central to tourist attractions in the area including the Jungfrau where you have to get a train too as well as the area where there is edelweiss flowers close by.
The town has excellent facilities eg swimming.
I would recommend this hotel and a visit to Interlaken....

In New York there is Time Square, In Venice there is the Piazza San Marco, in Moscow there is Red Square and in Beijing there is Tiananmen Square. These places are traditionally found in the centre of the city or town and are generally where you will find that the people will gather for various activities such as demonstrations, events, shows of solidarity and New Year celebrations. Here in good old ‘Glesga’, we have George Square.
The square was originally laid out in 1781 on what was then a marsh. Gradually, it was built around until eventually it became the centre of a bustling city which did very well in the industrial revolution and traded heavily in fabrics, tobacco and shipbuilding. Through the years the Square has evolved...

When I read "Flaubert's Parrot" I vowed never to read a book by Julian Barnes. I hated the boring and seemingly random sequence of anecdotes about a writer who should have been interesting but, somehow, was reduced to commonplace and humdrum.... more
