prime city centre location. The original period features combined with contemporary furnishings and decor provide a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. The Terrace Brasserie provides bistro-style dining, with access to the hotel¤s private landscaped gardens. The hotel features leisure facilities including a sauna, steam room, gym and pool.
Advantages: Great location, lovely entrance areas Disadvantages: very shabby in bedrooms
...that this was not the Royal Terrace Hotel.
We found our hotel a bit further down the street, and after parking the car, went in. I have to mention that a down side to this hotel is that it doesn’t have a car park, and the car has to be parked on the street. We aren’t “precious” about the car, but didn’t fancy having it towed a way, although the man assured us that over the weekend it would be fine…it was!

... ...short walk from the city centre, so no need to get taxis or buses.
~~Entrance and checking in~~
The entrance to the hotel is very modern- all brown and cream, very clean, with sofas and tables dotted around. Handy if you have lots of cases, there is an automatic door, so no fighting with bags and the pushing and pulling of doors. At one side of the entrance area is a small bar with bar stools round the bar area, and three or four small tables with ...

...along with my plan on the condition that I would buy him a curry in Edinburgh) accompanied me to Stirling's Tourist Information Office where we proposed to enquire about rooms in Edinburgh. To cut a long story short we ended up with a booking at the Adria Hotel. Armed with a print-out from the officious assistant we set off for Auld Reekie.
The Adria Hotel commands an excellent position on RoyalTerrace which makes it convenient for the Edinburgh Playhouse, the Omni Complex, Easter Road Stadium (home of Hibs) and Calton Hill - my favourite spot in the city with wonderful views over to Leith where the Royal Yacht Britannia is now docked. It's a five minute walk down to Princes Street and both Waverley train station and St. Andrews coach station. There is a wealth of restaurants, pubs, bars, cafes and clubs nearby although RoyalTerrace...

Advantages: Excellent location, good service, relatively cheap Disadvantages: None really
...An old friend recently got married in Edinburgh, and as we live in London, at least an overnight stay was on the books. In the end, we decided to stay for a few days, and while looking out for a cheapish hotel to stay in, I came across this one and was so impressed by the courteous way with which I was treated when I rang to enquire about a room that I booked it on the spot.
Location
This could not have been better. The hotel is situated on RoyalTerrace (which is exactly as it sounds – a terrace fit for royalty), which is on Calton Hill and just ten minutes walk away from the Royal Mile. It is also very close to Waverley Station, St James Bus Station and Holyrood Palace.

Experience the history and culture of Edinburgh from one of the most exclusive Georgian hotels in the city; Royal Terrace Hotel. Each room\\\'s features are individual and unique, in both shape and size, as the hotel was once seven Georgian town houses and has retained much of the original character. Most rooms have wonderful views of either the Firth of Forth or the Regency Garden to the rear.
We've just got back from a couple of nights stay at The Royal Albion in Brighton. We love going down to Brighton and had a long weekend off work together so thought we'd have a look to see if we could get a cheap couple of nights. We went on... more
I purchased this machine last year and we have been very happy with it. We are seriously coffee lovers and didn't mind paying a bit extra for a top quality machine, that was easy to use that would last us a long time - if these are your requirements... more
