Rwanda My Favourite African Country
Advantages: Peaceful beautiful place unspoilt by tourists Disadvantages: Not easy to get to
I have lived in Rwanda for about a year and despite negative media comments it really is such a beautiful and peaceful place. I often walk the streets of Kigali the capital at night without fear of mugging.
The main hotels are expensive but there are many other hotels at reasonable rates. Lake Kivu is simply breathtaking. Travel is easy with many buses and taxis but you have to take the overcrowding on the buses as part of the experience. Visiting ... ...deal and is really worth it $250 us. You also need to be reasonably fit to reach them. Only 8 people are allowed to go each day and you get to spend around an hour sitting with them as they feed.
Little corruption evident, you don't have to pay bribes to get anything done. Not a lot of vegetarian options in the local restaurants, mainly BBQ lamb and pork. There is a problem with Malaria so you need to take precautions. The weather is kind and it ...

Right, well, this is not really an opinion about Rwanda – I have never been there. It is more about Comic relief, with regard to a programme I saw about Rwanda, but unfortunately, there is no category about Comic relief :o(
The programme I watched was regarding the uses of the money which will be received for Comic Relief this March. The programme centred on Rwanda, one of the places where the money raised is greatly received.
The man who ... ...and visited a small town in Rwanda, which was very badly affected by the genocide about 7 years ago. The genocide was a perhaps more evil event in world history, than the works of Adolf Hitler, but has not been publicised. Over 1 million people of the ‘Tutsie’ race were brutally murdered by other African people.
