Well what can I say? I'm 23, married to a gorgeous woman aka gennymutant - check out her ops sometime! - and I believe that 'The Matrix' is the best film to have ever been created!

Being one of the most well known budget airlines I was expecting everything to be geared towards cost reduction and saving money wherever they can. I am please to say that I was wrong.
I booked the tickets over the Internet, rather obviously trying to find the cheapest fare possible. The website was swift and easy to use however the only way to search for the cheapest flights if you were variable on your departure and return dates was trial and error. This became frustrating after a while and after booking the tickets this little person in the back of my mind always wondered if there was a cheaper alternative.
Moving forward to the date of travel and when checking in there were a couple of desks open and the queue moved quickly and efficiently. The procedure was standard although we were handed two bizarre bits of laminated card that served as our boarding passes. It was then that I remembered that you did not have allocated seating and had to rush to try and make sure you got a decent seat on the plane. As far as I could tell all safety procedures were adhered to and you couldn’t tell that you were taking ‘the cheaper option’
The flight was, unfortunately, delayed by about 90 minutes which does count against them but since the reason behind the delay was unknown it could have quite easily been a fault outside of the company. Either way the delay wasn’t *too* bad and happens to first class passengers travelling with BA paying upwards of a thousand pounds so at least I am in good company!
The main surprise of the flight was the amount of available legroom. After travelling with British Airway’s GO FLY about a year ago and feeling Deep Vain Thromboses setting in after about five minutes I was very happy to find my legs had plenty of space! I realise it’s not as important as say, the plane still having it’s wings attached, but being 6ft 2in it rates rather high on my list! :)
My only suggestion is to take your own food and drink with you. Since you’re travelling on Ryan Air it is safe to assume you are out to save money and paying upwards of £3.50 for a small baguette that was probably prepared more than three days ago is not exactly economising! :)
For more information or to check out prices go to www.ryanair.com
All in all I found the people helpful and the service to be at the very least acceptable and certainly more than I expected.
By the way… I was flying to Ireland! :) Check out my wife’s (gennymutant) travel ops on the towns we went to and the things we did!

btw, thanks for the comment on my Monkey Island op!

good op - I've wanted to fly on this mainly because it's so cheap - I'll keep your advice in mind! Thanks!

The worst thing about Ryan is their 'free seating' policy. People take the window and aisle seats and later boarding couples find they can't even sit in the same row.
