Wii Resort For Island Sports

Advantages: Some great mini-games that really show off the MotionPlus accessory
Disadvantages: Expensive to fully kit out two remotes. One or two less compelling mini-games

INTRODUCTION Our Nintendo Wii has been hibernating under our TV, gathering dust since shortly after Christmas. The Wii party games made a brief appearance for the holidays and the shine of Wii Fit wore off after our New Year?s resolutions met with their usual success and longevity (i.e. none). It?s a fab console, but it?s very ease of ?pick up and play? makes it just as easy to ignore in favour of other pursuits. However, we were intrigued by the promise and novelty of the new Wii MotionPlus gadget, and when Wii Sports Resort (WSR) ? essentially Wii Sports 2 ? was announced, it was immediately added to our Wish List. As such, I was delighted when I received it for my birthday last week, and It has played a part in our nightly entertainment since. WHAT?S IN THE BOX WSR comes packaged with the game (in its own DVD ...

Wii should go to the Sports Resort!...

Advantages: Good for all the family, Great fun, Entertaining, Something to do on a rainy day
Disadvantages: Expensive

Wii Sports Resort One special day last year, I woke up unusually early - it was even still dark outside. I just couldn?t wait to get downstairs and go into the living room, but I couldn?t - not just yet anyway. It?s something we always do in my family, we must all go downstairs at the same time, together. Not every morning! Just on this particular special day, so I called my mum and dad - my two younger sisters were already up, practically buzzing with excitement at the top of the stairs - and together we all walked, or rather sprinted into the living room. That special day of course, was Christmas day! Woohay! So, you?re probably wondering I wanted to tell you about this, aren?t you? Well, keep reading and you?ll find out? I love surprises, don?t you? Not knowing that something?s going to happen and then it does (as long ...

Port Douglas

Advantages: Quiet, relaxing and the reef is very accessible
Disadvantages: Poor TV reception?

A very nice village about 1h north of Cairns. The population is about 3000, built on a peninsular it gets nice cooling sea breezes compared to the surrounding rainforest. And all buildings must be no taller than the Palm trees. Your hotel can arrange a pick-up from the airport, a car is not needed. We have stayed at both Radisson resorts that have free shuttles into town. The main road in has the hotels and leads on to the main street with the shops, verandahed restaurants and pubs. Over the last two years it has grown (it now has two supermarkets!) but the character remains The marina has a number of snorkeling and diving boats leaving practically everyday of the week at about 9am but usually 10am. You can go out all year round, we have been there in August and the temperature was in the 80s. The operator will arrange the hotel pick ...
